Reminiscing about the good old days, Farida opened up about her early days in Bollywood even before this popular couple tied the knot. In fact, Farida was seen giving a glimpse of the courtship days of these Sholay actors and how they would venture out for coffee dates.
In an interview with Rajshri Unplugged, Farida Jalal, who has shared screen space with the biggest Bollywood superstar, revealed that when Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were together they would all not only hangout with each other but would also go out for coffee. “Back then, we had a big group, and we always used to meet up. I remember when Amitabh and Jaya were in the midst of their courtship days before getting married. They would pick me up from my house in Pali Hills at night, and we’d go for a drive to have coffee at Taj.”
She further maintained that she will also share fond memories with them and they continue to stay in touch. “I have a very old relationship with Amitji and an older one with Jaya. We have a lot of love for each other even today. Even though we don’t meet that often, it has not affected the love we share for each other,” she added.
For the unversed, Farida Jalal has shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in several films including Majboor, Yaarana, Ganga Ki Saugand, among others whereas has acted with Jaya Bachchan in films like Naya Din Nai Raat. She featured as Daijaan in the blockbuster movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, where she shared screen space with both the stars.

However, Jawan seems to be breaking records created by the superstar himself with Pathaan earlier this year. Now director of the film, Atlee has revealed that he would love to take the action entertainer, co-starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, to the Oscars.
In an interview with ETimes, popular South filmmaker discussed about his journey as well as the making of Jawan, wherein he opened up about his desire to win some prestigious awards after the successful business of the film. He said, “Of course, even Jawan should go, if everything falls in place. I think every effort, everybody, every director, every technician who is working in cinema, their eyes are on the Golden Globes, Oscars, National Awards, every award. So, definitely, yeah, I would love to take Jawan to the Oscars. Let’s see. I think Khan sir will watch and read this interview. I will also ask him over a call ‘Sir, should we take this film to the Oscars?”
Speaking of Jawan, the film is an action entertainer featuring Shah Rukh Khan in a double role. It revolves around the fight of a man who decides to fight against the system with his gang of girls which includes actors like Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sangeeta Bhattacharya, Aaliyah Qureshi, Lehar Khan, and Girija Oak in the most unique ways. With Nayanthara playing the no nonsense cop and Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, the film released in theatres on September 7 in three languages, namely, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Via Bollywood Hungama https://ift.tt/MLjaWbpSS Rajamouli’s last film RRR turned out to be a global blockbuster and it also won the Oscar for the Best Song for the dance track ‘Naatu Naatu.’ Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the movie was set on the backdrop of India’s independence from the British and it told the fictitious story of two Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The filmmaker’s next is reportedly another large scale film, this time inspired from the life of Lord Hanuman with superstar Mahesh Babu playing the central character.
But apart from directing this movie, it seems Rajamaouli will also be producing another larger-than-life saga. As per a report in the online publication Deadline, the filmmaker will be backing a film based on the birth and the rise of Indian cinema. The report also said that the film will be a “magnum opus telling” and will be told “on a huge scale and canvas.”
More than a decade back, a Marathi film titled Harishchandrachi Factory was made on the birth of cinema in India through the efforts of Dhundiraj Govind Phalke aka Dadasaheb Phalke. The film saw Nandu Madhav play Phalke, who later came to be known as the Father of Indian Cinema.
However, there has been no information whether Rajamouli’s film will feature the character of Phalke. The details regarding the director and the cast are also not disclosed yet.

Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, the film has garnered positive response across the board. It also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir and Anjali Anand. The film, which was released on July 28, is currently available for rent on Prime Video. In a recent interview, the director said that the actor has two sides to himself.
Speaking to Mid-Day, Karan said, “He is actually very much two people. There is that one person who is silent, quiet, and happy with self, an introvert. And then there is an extrovert, an exhibitionist, an absolute like out there individual. So, I am surprised he is not a Gemini because he is really two people.”
He added, “(The) second person none of you will ever meet. So, he is not like this. He is not wild all the time. He is conserving to explode. That is what he does with every character. I am sure when he played Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani, he had a different energy.”
Shedding the light on working with Ranveer Singh in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani Karan said, “He likes a certain atmosphere to create on set for anything. He is very particular about things like his eye line or silence on set like he is very sound sensitive. Even if, like a kilometre away, there is something happening, he won’t be able to perform. That is something you have to make sure that he is comfortable with. When he is there and he is delivering, then you are just awestruck because he has gone from Ranveer Singh to Rocky Randhawa, and then he stayed Rocky Randhawa right through the day. Like right through the day, he will talk to you like Rocky.”
Recently, it was announced that the movie has been selected for the Busan International Film Festival 2023. The film, helmed by Karan Johar, has been selected in the Open Cinema section.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar will next helm an action project. However, he has many projects in the pipeline as a producer. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh will next headline Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra.
