Amitabh Bachchan ad lands Flipkart in big trouble with mobile phone retailers; platform removes the video

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s latest advertisement with the platform Flipkart has landed the latter in trouble with mobile phone retailers. In their latest Hindi advertisement, which is a promotional campaign for the upcoming festive season, the actor is talking about the special mobile phone deals which are not available at the retail stores. The smartphone retailers are alleging that this is misleading the buyers.

The All India Mobile Retailers Association (AIMRA), which represents 150,000 mobile retailers, wrote a long letter to the smartphone brands to address the issue. “Our purpose in addressing you is to express our deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent wave of derogatory advertisements that have been proliferating across various online platforms, social media, and print media. These advertisements have been influencing the buying behaviour of customers through false and misleading statements, such as the one promoted by Flipkart with the endorsement of the mega star, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, stating, ‘yeh Dukan per nahin milne wala’ (This will not be found in stores),” AIMRA said in the letter, as reported by Economic Times.

The report also stated that the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), which represents 80 million retailers, has written a letter to Amitabh Bachchan condemning the advertisement. “We are highly disheartened to witness your recent advertisement for Flipkart, where you claimed that deals and offers are not available at shopkeepers, thereby misleading and influencing customers,” CAIT said.

Both Flipkart and Amitabh Bachchan have not reacted to the campaign backlash. As of now, Flipkart has made the video private on YouTube.

Allu Arjun and his family inaugurate his grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah statue, see photos

National Award winner Allu Arjun is unarguably the most in-demand actor in Indian cinema today. Recently, the entire Allu family came together to celebrate the 101st birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. Allu Ramalingaiah, who was also Allu Arjun’s grandfather.

Dr. Allu Ramalingaiah was a celebrated figure across the nation who entertained three generations of moviegoers. The Allu family, including Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind, Allu Bobby, and Allu Sirish, have proudly carried on the legacy established by this celebrated figure and contributed significantly to the growth and success of Indian cinema.

Since Allu Arjun was out of town, the entire family gathered at Allu Business Park. Close friends of the family also marked their presence, and together they inaugurated the statue of Padma Shri Dr. Allu Ramalingaiah. The bronze statue was unveiled by the fourth generation of the family, Allu Ayaan, who is also the son of Allu Arjun, and the entire Allu family paid their respects to the celebrated figure.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun will next be seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule and a massive entertainer with Trivikram.

Mahira Khan marries businessman Salim Karim; couple gets emotional during wedding ceremony, see video

Popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, considered one of that country’s biggest stars and who made her Bollywood debut in the 2017 movie Raees, has tied the knot with her longtime businessman beau Salim Karim on September 30, 2023. The actress was in a relationship with Karim for a little over five years and kept it private. Reports state that the wedding was an intimate affair with families and close friends in attendance.

Taking to Instagram stories on Sunday night, Mahira Khan’s manager Anushay Talha Khan shared two videos. One of them was Mahira walking down the aisle. The second one was the bride walking towards the groom who was in tears in the clip. Salim walked towards her to lift her long white veil. Mahira was visibly emotional as well as both of them hugged each other.

For her wedding ceremony, Mahira wore a beige pastel lehenga with an off-shoulder blouse and a white work veil. It seems like it was custom-made by Faraz Manan. She also opted for matching diamond jewellery for her forehead and as a necklace. Her husband, Salim wore a dark sherwani with a sky blue turban.

Salim Karim is the CEO of the Pakistani startup Simpaisa. Meanwhile, Mahira Khan was previously married to actor-producer Ali Askari with whom she shares a son.

On the work front, Mahira Khan was last seen in The Legend of Maula Jatt with Fawad Khan. The film is Pakistan’s most expensive film to date and went on to amass $13.8 million worldwide on 500 screens. In her next, she is working with Fawad again on his production Neelofar. She is currently starring in a mini-series Razia.

Jaideep Ahlawat is thrilled with the rave reviews his film Jaane Jaan has been receiving, where he shared screen space with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vijay Varma. Now the film along with the actor’s other film Three of Us have been chosen to both open and close the Himalayan Film Festival 2023. This prestigious festival commenced on September 29 and will continue until October 3, 2023, and it offers a captivating cinematic experience against the breathtaking Himalayan mountain scenery.

Jaideep expressed his excitement about the festival, saying, “I’m truly thrilled and excited to be a part of the Himalayan Film Festival. The film is inspired by the famous Japanese thriller novel Devotion of Suspect X and is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Set against the mystic valleys of Kalimpong, the film released on Netflix on September 21.

Siddharth gets stopped from promoting Chiththa in Bengaluru; event gets disrupted

Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth, who is busy with his intriguing South ventures, witnessed a massive problem, when he was promoting his upcoming film Chiththa in Bengaluru. His event was interrupted by certain party workers claiming issue over the ongoing battle over Cauvery River between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and asked the actor to cancel the event. With not much choice, Siddharth had to walk out of the event midway. Addressing the concern, Siddharth opened up to his fans about mishap during a social media interaction with them.

As per Indian Express report, Siddharth revealed about the incident during an Instagram Live session, wherein he said, “Yesterday, in Bengaluru there was an incident. The backstory of it is that this is the first time, as a producer, I screened my film to many ahead of the movie’s theatrical release. It was shown to the media in Chennai and Kochi. There was a plan for such a show in Bengaluru as well. I had plans to show the film to about 2,000 students ahead of the release. No one has done it so far. There was also a plan to screen the film for Kannada stars that night. But everything was cancelled by us as a mark of respect to the bandh. We incurred a huge loss, but beyond that, it was disappointing that we couldn’t share a good film with people there.”

He went on to add, “The press was supposed to watch the film after the interaction, but you all saw what happened there. It happened in front of many cameras. I don’t want to talk about it. When the film is getting a good response, I don’t want to talk about anything to distract the attention. There’s no relation between my film and the issue. I believe my social responsibility will show up in the films I make spending my money.”

Chiththa is expected to follow the journey of a paternal uncle and his niece as the former sets out on a search mission when she disappears. Directed by S.U. Arun Kumar, the film is expected to release in multiple languages including Telugu and Kannada.
