Nicole Kidman starrer limited series Expats by Lulu Wang to premiere on Prime Video on January 26, 2024

Prime Video announced that Expats, the six-part limited series directed by Lulu Wang and based on the internationally best-selling novel “The Expatriates” by Janice Y. K. Lee, will premiere on January 26, 2024. The teaser art for the series was also revealed.

Expats stars Academy Award- and Emmy-winning actor Nicole Kidman, Sarayu Blue, Ji-young Yoo, Brian Tee, and Jack Huston. Kidman and Lulu Wang also serve as executive producers on the series. The series’ feature-length penultimate episode will have its European premiere screening at BFI’s London International Film Festival on October 9.

Set against the vibrant and tumultuous tapestry of 2014 Hong Kong, Expats centers on three American women—Margaret (Nicole Kidman), Hilary (Sarayu Blue), and Mercy (Ji-young Yoo)—whose lives intersect after a sudden family tragedy. The series interrogates privilege and explores what happens when the line between victimhood and culpability becomes blurred. Brian Tee, who plays Margaret’s husband Clarke, and Jack Huston, who plays Hilary’s husband David, also star in the series.

Lulu Wang serves as a creator, director, and writer for Expats. Wang also executive produces the series with Daniele Melia for Local Time. Nicole Kidman serves as an executive producer for the series with Per Saari for Blossom Films, along with Australian screenwriter Alice Bell, who was the first writer onboarded to the series. Theresa Park for Per Capita Productions and Stan Wlodkowski also serve as executive producers. Vera Miao, Gursimran Sandhu and author Janice Y. K. Lee served as writers on Expats, with Bell and Wang.

Mahira Khan shares first video from her stunning wedding ceremony with Salim Karim; her son walks her down the aisle, watch

Popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan tied the knot with her longtime businessman beau Salim Karim on September 30, 2023. The actress was in a relationship with Karim for a little over five years and kept it private. Salim Karim is the CEO of the Pakistani startup Simpaisa. Following her intimate wedding with families and close friends in attendance, the actress took to Instagram to share the first video from the wedding.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night, Mahira Khan shared a video in which she was walking down the aisle will her son. After the nikah ceremony, she walked towards Salim who walked toward her to lift her long white veil. Both of them were in years as he lifted her beil and they hugged each other.

For her wedding ceremony, Mahira wore a beige pastel lehenga with an off-shoulder blouse and a white embellished work veil. It was custom-made by Mahira’s favourite designer Faraz Manan. She also opted for matching diamond jewellery for her forehead and as a necklace. Her husband, Salim wore a dark sherwani with a sky blue turban.

On the work front, Mahira Khan was last seen in The Legend of Maula Jatt with Fawad Khan. The film is Pakistan’s most expensive film to date and went on to amass $13.8 million worldwide on 500 screens. In her next, she is working with Fawad again on his production Neelofar. She is currently starring in a mini-series Razia and will next star in a movie with Humayun Saeed.

Sidharth Malhotra starrer Yodha preponed to December 8, 2023; once again faces clash with Katrina Kaif – Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas

Yodha starring Sidharth Malhotra in the lead, which was scheduled for December 15, 2023, has now been preponed to December 8, 2023. The film is an action saga directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. Earlier this morning, the makers of Katrina Kaif – Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas also announced that their movie will release a week early too. Now, both films will clash at the box office, once again.

Last week, Bollywood Hungama learnt that Yodha, which is scheduled to release on December 15, will move to another date. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Yodha is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Karan realized that it’ll be difficult for Yodha to retain screens in the second week once Dunki and Salaar arrive in cinemas. Moreover, it’ll become challenging even for Dunki and Salaar’s distributors since theatres would not want to lose out on Yodha, especially if it does well.”

The source continued, “Karan Johar has a long association with Shah Rukh Khan, which is well known. Also, he’s close to Prabhas as well since KJo presented Baahubali series in Hindi. Hence, out of respect for Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas, he has decided to bring Yodha on some other date.”

Starring Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna alongside Sidharth Malhotra, Amazon Prime and Dharma Productions presents in association with Mentor Disciple Films, a Dharma Production film Yodha, is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan.

It’s been 9 years since the release of Hrithik Roshan – Katrina Kaif starrer Bang Bang and 4 years since War starring Hrithik and Tiger Shroff was released in theatres. Over the last decade, the actor and director Siddharth Malhotra have developed a strong friendship. As they head towards their third collaboration Fighter, the actor marked the occasion by celebrating their ten-year collaboration.

Hrithik Roshan shared a photo from Fighter set in Italy with Siddharth Anand and wrote, “Here’s to 10 years of our creative collaborations, yaara! Today marks 9 years since ‘Bang Bang’ released, 4 since ‘War’ released and our ‘Fighter’ is on the horizon. Started off shooting with a bang on the rooftops of Shimla, and now we’re set to soar the blue skies. May we always fight on, side by side to bring our visions to life!”

For Fighter, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika are currently on a 15-day schedule in Italy to shoot two songs. One is a foot-tapping dance number, composed by Vishal and Shekhar, and choreographed by Bosco and Caeser. The second song is a quintessential romantic ballad that will showcase the chemistry between Hrithik and Deepika.

Fighter is reportedly being planned as a trilogy and is produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under their banner, Marflix Entertainment, in association with Viacom 18. The film is scheduled to release on Republic Day 2024.
