Madhura Naik informs about ‘300 family members’ stuck in Israel; responds to hate she received on social media

The situation in Israel is quite sensitive and the sudden attack of the Hamas terrorist group has taken lives of many innocents. Among them was also Madhura Naik’s family members. The Naagin actress had taken to social media to pass on the message of supporting Israel, after her sister and brother-in-law along with their kids were shot dead in their car during the attacks. In a recent interaction, the popular television star also revealed that about 300 of her family members are stuck there.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the bereaved actress opened up about the Israel attacks and revealed about the bodies of her family members were found after they were reported missing. “My family informed me about them missing, and only after 24 hours were their bodies identified. Their children in the car along with them, were taken back by the officers on duty,” says the grieving actress.

For the unversed, Madhura Naik is born to a Hindu father and Israeli mother. She further went on to react to the kind of hatred she received after sharing a video of asking everyone to support Israel in these tough times, and added, “The situation unfortunately has always been like this in Israel, we have always faced a lot of such situations. My family is worried about how things are going to escalate. I felt it is necessary to talk about it in my social media post. I cannot reveal where I am right now, due to security reasons, neither can I tell you which members are stuck in Israel. I have just been getting a lot of communal hate after my post, and it is shocking that people are failing to empathise with innocent lives. They fail to understand that it is the innocent civilians who die. This is a terror attack, same like what happened in Mumbai, 26/11.”

She concluded by adding that she is currently keeping everything including her current residence confidential owing to security reasons.

Needless to say, comments started pouring from her fans and followers across the globe and amidst that was also her bestie Shanaya Kapoor. It seems that the daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, who is also gearing up for her film debut, couldn’t stop herself from giving a shoutout to her BFF and dropped heart emojis showering her love on the post.

In the past too, both Suhana Khan and Shanaya Kapoor along with their other BFF Ananya Panday have often showered love on each other on social media and have been the best cheerleaders for each other during the release of their films.

Coming to The Archies, the film will feature Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, and son of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, in the role of Archie, along with Suhana Khan as Veronica, Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, as Betty. Along with them, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Dot, and Yuvraj Menda are expected to play key roles in the film. Set in the 70s, the film which is inspired by its namesake comics, is slated for release on December 7.

EXCLUSIVE: Dia Mirza opens up about feeling discomfort with R Madhavan’s character stalking her in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein; says, “What works that people get past that notion”

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza, who shot to fame with her role in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (RHTDM), has recently shared her discomfort with the portrayal of stalking in the movie, acknowledging that today’s woke audience might criticize the film for romanticizing such behaviour.

In the 2001 film, R. Madhavan’s character, Maddy, falls head over heels in love with the sweet and soft-spoken Reena Malhotra, portrayed by Dia Mirza. However, his overzealous attempts to win her affection border on stalking, a theme that Dia now finds disconcerting. In an exclusive video interview with Bollywood Hungama, Dia Mirza confessed that she was uneasy with the stalking aspect even while filming the movie. Surprisingly, even two decades later, she still grapples with her discomfort regarding this narrative choice. Dia shared her feelings about the film, stating, “I was uncomfortable that Maddy’s character was stalking me. Although, Reena acknowledges it. She gives it off to him. She has that moment when she tells him off.”

The reason the movie didn’t receive more criticism, according to Dia, is the strong moral character exhibited by Maddy. She explained, “What works that people get past that notion, that it’s okay, is the fact that Maddy’s character, at the end of the value, has very strong values, is respectful, is kind, is well-intentioned, most importantly. So, that let it fly.”

Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein” was the Hindi adaptation of his 2001 Tamil film “Minnale.” While the film has achieved a cult status, Dia Mirza’s recent revelations shine a light on how societal attitudes towards relationships and consent have evolved over the years. It also prompts a reflection on how classic movies can sometimes unintentionally perpetuate problematic themes.

SCOOP: The Marvels might get limited or zero shows on IMAX screens in India due to Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3

The festival of Diwali is keenly awaited, thanks to Tiger 3. The promotions have gradually picked up and it is expected to go on another level once the trailer drops on Monday, October 16. This week, the producers, Yash Raj Films, unveiled two brand new posters of the film, featuring its lead actors, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. These posters mentioned that the film will also be released in IMAX. Many felt that it would not be possible as Tiger 3 clashes with The Marvels, the Hollywood superhero film. In the past, whenever a Hindi biggie was released alongside an IMAX-friendly Hollywood flick, the latter got a preference in IMAX screens across the world. In the past, ’83 (2021) and Adipurush’s (2023) IMAX plans got dashed, thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Flash respectively.

But Tiger 3 will be an exception. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Tiger 3 will get a release in IMAX screens in India. Most probably, it’ll get almost all shows in the giant screen auditorium. As for The Marvels, it’ll have to share shows with the Salman Khan-starrer. There’s a small possibility that it might not get a release in IMAX at all, though the possibility seems remote. A clearer picture will emerge in the next two weeks.”

The source continued, “Usually, IMAX Corporation doesn’t encourage the release of two IMAX films on the same day or week. And if it happens, the Hollywood film gets the upper hand. Hence, this is a significant development. This probably has been possible due to the supremacy of YRF and of course the insane stardom of Salman Khan.”

Meanwhile, sources also state that Tiger 3 will also get a release in several IMAX properties overseas.

Besides Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Tiger 3 also stars Emraan Hashmi. It is directed by Maneesh Sharma. The Marvels, meanwhile, belongs to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

SCOOP: Sidharth Malhotra to create HISTORY; his web series Indian Police Force to release on December 8, the same day as his film Yodha

Bollywood Hungama yesterday reported that the much-awaited web series, Indian Police Force, will not make it on Diwali 2023. The decision was taken by Amazon Prime Video to push the release due to the release of Tiger 3 on the Festival of Lights. Also, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be going on, which will surely be a huge talking point on the internet, especially since it’ll be in its last leg. The World Cup ends on November 19, that is, a week after Diwali.

Bollywood Hungama now brings to you the release date of Indian Police Force. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The keenly anticipated show will drop on Amazon Prime Video on December 8. The streaming giant feels that it’ll be an apt time and help them get the required views. They plan to promote it in a grand manner to ensure that the common man on the ground is fully aware of the show’s release date.”

Interestingly, Indian Police Force stars Sidharth Malhotra and his film Yodha will be out on the same day, in cinemas. The source continued, “This is probably a first-time occurrence that an actor will have a theatrical release and premiere of his web series on the same day. Sidharth Malhotra, thus, is all set to create history in the last month of 2023.”

Indian Police Force is helmed by blockbuster filmmaker Rohit Shetty and also stars Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi. The massy show was announced in a grand fashion at an event held by Amazon Prime Video in April 2022.

Yodha, meanwhile, co-stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. It is directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. It is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Earlier, this action entertainer was scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 15 and it was preponed by a week due to the mega clash of Dunki and Salaar on December 22. Yet again, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to unveil this development.

This biography is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw whose military career spanned four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and the decisive victory of the Indian Army in the 1971 Indo-Pak war was under his command as Chief of Army Staff. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan, the second and third highest civilian awards in India.

Produced by RSVP Movies, the teaser of Sam Bahadur will be released on October 13, and the film will hit the theatres on 1st December 2023. The trailer will also be screened during India v/s Pakistan World Cup match on October 14. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Sanya Malhotra will play his wife, Silloo – Manekshaw’s pillar and strength. Fatima Sana Shaikh steps into the shoes of Indira Gandhi, the country’s first female Prime Minister.
