Abhishek Bachchan mourns the demise of Dhoom director Sanjay Gadhvi; says, “You gave me my first ever hit”
The sudden demise of renowned Dhoom director Sanjay Gadhvi on Sunday morning reverberated shockwaves throughout the Bollywood film industry. Expressing grief, several directors and industry colleagues extended their condolences, including actor Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek had collaborated with Sanjay Gadhvi on two films, Dhoom and Dhoom 2, shared poignant throwback pictures from the sets of Dhoom 2 along with a heartfelt note.
Abhishek’s note accompanying the pictures expressed deep sorrow and recounted memories of working together. He wrote, “I took this photo of Sanjay whilst we were filming the climax of Dhoom 2 in South Africa. We made 2 films together – Dhoom and Dhoom 2. Sanju, when I spoke to you last week and we were reminiscing about our shoots and memories I would never have imagined even in my craziest dreams that I would have to write a post like this. I’m shocked beyond belief.”
Acknowledging Gadhvi’s pivotal role in his career, Abhishek reflected on the faith the director had in him, even during uncertain times. He expressed gratitude for Gadhvi’s guidance and credited him for providing the actor with his first-ever hit. The note concluded with a heartfelt farewell, “You had faith in me, even when I didn’t. You gave me my first ever hit!!! I can never ever forget that or be able express what it meant to me. I will cherish your friendship always. Rest in peace my brother.”

On the film front, Abhishek Bachchan had made waves with his performance in the sports drama Ghoomer, co-starring Saiyami Kher. The film is a sports drama directed by R Balki and it centres around the journey of a paraplegic woman, portrayed by Saiyami Kher, who emerges as a star bowler for the Indian cricket team under the guidance of her coach, played by Abhishek Bachchan. Alongside Abhishek and Saiyami, the movie also starred Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles.

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman, marking her 72nd birthday, delighted her fans with a heartfelt message on Sunday, expressing gratitude for her life’s journey.
Sharing a picture of herself, Zeenat wrote in caption, “Today – an expression of unadulterated gratitude for my life. For the pinnacles and pitfalls that have gifted me resilience and self belief. For my small, loving family of two-legged and four-legged beings. For a circle of friends that has endured through decades. For a mind that is alive and curious still. For a body that occasionally aches, but yet persists. For the love and kindness each one of you has given me. And for the opportunities that flow my way as a result.”
Zeenat extended her thanks for the warm wishes and support from well-wishers, concluding her post with a wish for everyone to live a long life, free of regrets and filled with grace. She wrote, “So thank you for your warm wishes and support. It does not go unnoticed. I hope you too can live to a ripe old age and be able to look back at the decades gone by without regrets and with grace. Here’s wishing for peace for all (and a victory for our boys in blue)! Zeenat Aman is an Indian actress and a former model. The Evil Within (1970), starring Dev Anand, marked the former beauty queen’s acting debut. She has acted in films like Yaadon Ki Baarat, Qurbani, Dharam Veer, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Insaaf Ka Tarazu among others. The actress will soon return to the silver screen with Faraz Arif Ansari’s next, Bun Tikki. The film will also feature Shabana Azmi. As per reports, the plan is to take the movie on floors by November of this year in Himachal Pradesh. The director plans to talk about parenting and gender identity throughout the movie. Abhay Deol will play the role of a father in the film.

India’s hopes of lifting the Cricket World Cup trophy were dashed today as they suffered a comprehensive defeat against Australia in the Final of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The loss sparked a wave of disappointment across the country, with Bollywood celebrities too joining in the shared sentiment of dejection.
Australia won the toss and elected to field. Their decision turned out to be fruitful as they were able to bowl out India at a low score of 240 in exactly 50 overs, despite Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scoring half-centuries. Later on during their chase, Australia lost 3 wickets under 50 runs but Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne steadied the ship and took their team home with 7 overs and 6 wickets to spare.
Bollywood stars took to social media to express their disappointment. While acknowledging the team’s valiant effort in the rest of the tournament where they were unbeaten, they also offered words of encouragement and consolation to the players and fans alike.

Continuing the spree of his shoot diaries, he has now shared a photo relaxing atop a hill where he is stationed for the shoot of Chandu Champion.
Kartik shared a photo of him where he is wearing a gym vest and joggers, donning a cap and holding a cup of a hot drink on a mountain and asked his fans to guess where he is. He captioned it, “Guess where i am ? #ChanduChampion #ShootDiaries.”

In October 2023, the team embarked on an ambitious endeavour: shooting an astonishing 8-minute-long single-shot war sequence at a breathtaking altitude of 9000 feet above sea level and this scene will definitely be a cinematic spectacle. The highlight of this endeavour was the filming of a 1965 battle at a scale which is unprecedented for a single-shot action sequence. The location for this daring feat was the picturesque Aru Valley in Jammu and Kashmir, nestled 9000 feet above sea level where a giant army camp set was built by the team. The preparation for this epic war sequence involved five days of intensive rehearsals with Kartik Aaryan, Vijay Raaz and Bhuvan Arora, ensuring that every detail was perfected. On the sixth day, the team executed the sequence flawlessly, capturing the essence of the dramatic wartime events.
Jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion is all set for its release on the 14th of June 2024.
On the work front, apart from Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion, Kartik’s lineup is as interesting as it can get. He will be next seen in Aashiqui 3 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 among a few other unannounced ones.
