Koffee With Karan 8: Karan Johar reveals Rani Mukerji and Kajol were his rock after his father’s death: “He loved you both”

Karan Johar has always given fans an insight into the lives of their favourite celebrities. The sixth episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8 marked the reunion of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’s leading ladies, Rani Mukerji and Kajol. The film completed 25 years in October 2023, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. This marked their reunion on the Koffee couch after several seasons, almost 16 years.

Koffee With Karan 8: Karan Johar reveals Rani Mukerji and Kajol were his rock after his father's death: "He loved you both"

Friends usually stand by you in your happy times, but real friends stand strongest during the low times in life. In the lowest phase of Karan Johar’s life, Rani and Kajol stayed strong with him! Talking about this, Karan Johar said, “I know when my dad passed away, it was kind of a young death and he had so much energy. I remember feeling a lot of love from both of you. You all were there, there were no questions asked, you all were just there. Like right through, I knew he had a special place in his heart for the both of you. He loved you both. I think it was because it was his son’s first movie and also because he had known you as a child. He has seen you grow up. I think he would say the most wonderful things about you both. I think, like you rightfully said, it’s a tough time when you lose a loved one, that you kind of set a relationship.”

Adding to it, Rani Mukerji said, “Also there is a difference when you are 17 and when you’re 40. You grow wiser as people, you also learn to not bother about the little things in life and it’s always the bigger things. I think people take advantage of the distance. People from the outside talk too much and the distance grows further apart. You will seldom find people who want people to come together. You will always see people wanting to break people even further.”

Makers of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal built 500 kg machine gun from scratch, the actor says, “It was a great idea that Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Suresh Selvarajan had”

Actors Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is all set to release this week. With only a few days left for the release of the movie on the big screen and it set to clash with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur in theatres, the anticipation is at an all-time high. The trailer gives a glimpse into the hyper-violent crime saga led by Kapoor. In one of the scenes, Ranbir is seen using a machine gun. Turns out, it is not VFX but was made from scratch.

Makers of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal built 500 kg machine gun from scratch, the actor says, “It was a great idea that Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Suresh Selvarajan had”

The makers of Animal recently attended a promotional event in Chennai ahead of the film’s release. At the conference, they were asked about the trolling for the machine gun and Computer-generated imagery (CGI). However, Animal production designer Suresh Selvarajan clarified that the machine gun, which weighed 500 kg, was built from scratch over a period of four months. It will reportedly appear during the 18-minute interval block. “I never saw such a thing happen for any Indian film. It was Sandeep’s vision,” he reportedly said.

Ranbir also added, “I remember the first time Suresh Anna showed us the war machine, I was shocked. He created it from scratch. It is such an original piece. It was a great idea that Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Suresh Anna had.”

He further said, “We are not shooting with actual guns. We have to pretend, imagine that if we are operating a machine so large, what would that do to our body, and our ears because we have to keep shooting for hours. I really had to imagine that because the bullets were coming under siege, they were not real. That is the magic of movies.”

Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures have backed Animal. The film is releasing on 1st December 2023.
