Animal Box Office Estimate Day 11: Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal collects Rs. 12 crores on the second Monday; headed towards Rs. 500 crore club

Ranbir Kapoor’s action-based family drama is continuing to hold strong at the box office in India. According to early estimates, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga film has collected in the range of Rs. 11.50 to 12.50 crores in Hindi, taking the total collections to Rs. 400 crore. On an All India level, the 11-day total of Animal stands around the Rs. 445 crore range.

Animal is on a record-breaking spree at the box office in India and the film will enter the Rs. 500 crore club by the end of its 3rd weekend, which speaks volumes about the kind of business this film is doing at the box office. The numbers are coming in despite a clash with Sam Bahadur as well as the limited showcasing on account of 3 hour 21-minute run time.

To add to the challenges, the film also has an A Certificate and that has also alienated it from the family audience. Strictly speaking on the word-of-mouth front, Animal is easily the most loved film of 2023 as the numbers have come in on a non-holiday with all the challenges and a relatively controversial take from a certain section of the media.

Animal is holding steady like a rock and is not looking to stop anytime soon as the film will hold showcasing even in the Christmas week, despite the release of Dunki and Salaar.

Fardeen Khan pens a beautiful birthday wish for his daughter Diani as she turns 10

While he was a popular star when he entered Bollywood, Fardeen Khan decided to resign his duties to be a doting father. And his love and affection, which he has been showering on his kids, is proof enough of how much he adores them. As his elder kid, daughter Diani Khan turned 10 on December 11, the actor decided to pen a beautiful wish on this special occasion and shared the same on social media.

Fardeen Khan, who has been receiving a lot of love on social media ever since he announced his comeback, decided to take to the platform to share his birthday wish for his little daughter Diani Khan by posting a few adorable pictures of the father-daughter duo. Along with that, he captioned these pics saying, “Happy 10th birthday, my darling daughter. May your journey through life be filled with love, laughter, and countless blessings. All my heart and soul”. He signed off the note saying, “Your adoring father.”

Followed by his post, many of his family members and fraternity friends took to the platform to share a birthday wish for his daughter. Among them was designer Farah Ali who wrote, “Happy happy birthday Diane. May you be blessed with health wealth happiness love laughter luck and more”. Among the friends, Esha Deol, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh, Dia Mirza, Huma Qureshi, Bobby Deol, Rohit Roy, among others also posted birthday wishes.

Meanwhile, fans of Fardeen Khan would be aware that the actor is planning on making a comeback in films and he also underwent a massive transformation for the same. The actor is expected to have kick started his projects and will be seen in a film titled Visfot.

Dunki Drop 5: Shah Rukh Khan teases new song ‘O Maahi’: “Feel the love”

The makers of Dunki have kept the excitement alive by treating the audience to Dunki Drop 1, Dunki Drop 2 ‘Lutt Putt Gaya‘, Dunki Drop 3 ‘Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se’, and Dunki Drop 4, the trailer. This has certainly heightened anticipation to see more of this endearing world created by Rajkumar Hirani. Without further delay, the makers are now gearing up to release Dunki Drop 5, O Maahi. To amplify the excitement, they released a glimpse of the promotional video just a few hours before its release featuring Shah Rukh Khan.

In a recent #AskSRK session, King Khan mentioned this song as one of his favourite tracks from the film album, audiences can’t wait for the whole track to drop. Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki is nearing its release, and the makers are not leaving any chance to keep the audience hooked. Dunki Drop 5 is all set for its arrival today! SRK wrote on Instagram, “Because everybody asks, what does Dunki mean? Dunki means being apart from your loved ones. And when you are with them, one feels the moment should last till the end of time. Dunki features an ensemble cast, with colourful characters portrayed by exceptionally talented actors Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, along with Shah Rukh Khan. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan trailer launch: Siddhant Chaturvedi expresses desire to do a road trip film with Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Lord Bobby Deol; Ananya Panday gives tips on how to move on after a break-up

The trailer launch of Kho Gaye Hum Kahan was held at an open-air restaurant-cum-lounge in Mumbai in the presence of actors Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav along with director Arjun Varain Singh. Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Reema Kagti along with Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh of Netflix also made their presence felt. The film deals with the complexities of relationships and the questions asked by the media were also based on this aspect. The first question was asked to Ananya about how one should forget their partner, with whom one was in a situationship for three years.

At this, Ananya Panday replied, “I think situationships are very complicated. It’s a good thing that it has ended. Maybe, you can focus on a relationship so that there’s more clarity. Sometimes, things end for a reason. Whatever is meant for you, will come to you.”

Later, another journalist asked for tips for coming out of a break-up. Siddhant Chaturvedi raised laughs as he remarked that the journalist, who asked the query, doesn’t require any tips as he’s surrounded by girls! Ananya Panday, on a serious note, suggested, “Don’t move on too fast. Just go slow.” Siddhant, still in a mood to joke, quipped, “Listen to sad songs. Arijit Singh hai jab tak, tab tak sambhale hue hai apne aap ko!”

Siddhant Chaturvedi later was asked who he’d like to be featured in a boys’ trip film. He took a pause and then answered, “Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor and Lord Bobby!” The last person was a reference to Bobby Deol. He’s the man of the moment thanks to his performance in the recently released blockbuster, Animal. Hence, the mere mention of his name induced hoots from the audience.

Arjun Varain Singh, meanwhile, revealed, “We had a working title which was Friends Ya Followers. We weren’t too sure about it and we were looking for other titles. And then Jee Le Zaraa was announced (to be directed by Farhan Akhtar). There was a lot of chatter on the internet (about film titles inspired by the songs of Excel’s films). I asked my assistant Malaika to make a list of all the song titles of Excel’s movies. We literally went through each one of them and we shortlisted a couple. We realized ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ perfectly captures what the movie is about. It captures the essence of us being the ‘lost’ generation. That’s what the film is about.”

‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ was the song from Excel’s 2016 romantic drama, Baar Baar Dekho, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif.

As for the film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, it releases directly on Netflix on December 26.

Farhan Akhtar recreates Dil Chahta Hai moment at Chapora Fort after 23 years

Dil Chahta Hai, which continues to be one of the most iconic coming-of-age dramas on friendship and love even after two decades, is also very special for Farhan Akhtar. The multi-faceted artist made his directorial debut with this entertaining venture in the year 2001, and the film was known for some emotional and fun sequences that depicted a strong bond between three best friends. One of them was the sequence where Akshaye Khanna, Aamir Khan, and Saif Ali Khan are seen enjoying the sunset from Chapora Fort in Goa.

Now two decades later, Farhan Akhtar recreated a similar sequence on social media. Taking to Instagram, the filmmaker-actor posted a photo of him sitting on the wall of the fort as he enjoyed the sunset and he also reminisced about Dil Chahta Hai in the caption as he wrote, “First time back at Chapora Fort since we filmed Akash, Sid and Sameer talking about life. That was 23 years ago. A lot has changed but the warm, sea-salt infused Goan air remains the same. Some places are just magical. <3”. For the unversed, the movie features a sequence where the three characters take off on an impromptu Goa trip where they are seen exploring some of the most picturesque locations in the beachy state.

Speaking of Dil Chahta Hai, the film showcased the journey of three college besties, Aakash aka Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan aka Sameer, and Akshaye Khanna aka Sid, who navigated the complexities of friendship and love in their journey to adulthood. The film also starred Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni, Dimple Kapadia, Ayub Khan, Rajat Kapoor, among others in key roles. The film released in theatres on August 10, 2001 and received a massive response among youngsters who resonated with the movie.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos recently made a short trip to India wherein he met some of the biggest celebrities from the Telugu industry. After Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR, he also met the filmmaker of RRR, S.S. Rajamouli. Apart from them, the head honcho also spent time with superstars like Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Naga Chaitanya, Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Nag Ashwin, among others during his visit.

Ted Sarandos took to social media to share photos with all of them and even shared his experience of meeting them in the caption. Sharing pics with Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, among others, he wrote, “I just spent the last 3 days meeting the legends of Telugu cinema and I’m blown away by their stories and dedication to the craft. Thank you for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I can’t wait to come back.” He also tagged the entire list of celebrities he met during this India visit.
