Shah Rukh Khan celebrates Republic Day 2024, shares photo with Indian flag: “May the Tiranga always fly high”

Republic Day in India is celebrated on January 26 each year. The day is also marked by the hoisting of the national flag, the singing of the national anthem, and various cultural programs across the country. The day also serves as a reminder of India’s transition to a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. On this occasion, Shah Rukh Khan wished the country along with a photo of himself hoisting the flag.

Taking to social media on Friday, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “Wishing you all a very Happy Republic Day…. May the Tiranga always fly high, symbolising the unity, strength and pride of our nation. As Indians, let’s contribute towards the progress and prosperity of our country. Jai Hind!”

Meanwhile, on the work front, the year 2023 witnessed the resounding success of Shah Rukh Khan, as he emerged triumphant with blockbusters Pathaan, Jawan, and later had a decent success in Dunki. The silver screen was graced by Khan’s charismatic presence, leaving audiences enthralled and box office records shattered.

While he is yet to announce his next, reports have claimed an exciting project is in the works involving Shah Rukh Khan, his daughter Suhana Khan, and the filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh.

Suhana Khan shares ‘Paris in rain’ moments from the French capital; cheers for Ananya Panday’s Paris Haute Couture Week debut

Known for her fashionable avatar in her debut film The Archies, daughter of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan continues to retain the glamorous look even in real life. The actress is currently holidaying in the capital city of Paris in France and she is also expected to be accompanied by her mother Gauri Khan. In fact, Suhana is also said to have attended the Paris Haute Couture Week which had Ananya Panday walking down the ramp and making her debut at the fashion event. The actress took to social media to share a few pictures from her recent vacay.

Suhana Khan took to Instagram to share photos which not only included showcasing the multiple looks that she sported as she explored Paris in her uber-chic and trendy ensembles, she also shared a few photos of the picturesque and quaint locations within the city. She captioned it in “Paris In Rain” and also gave a shoutout to her best friend Ananya Panday. The actress shared a photo of Panday taking the ramp by storm during the fashion show. After she posted these photos, she also got loud cheers from both her besties. While Ananya was one of the first to comment and said, “My suizieeee pie”, her other BFF Shanaya Kapoor dropped heart eye and heart emojis as she wrote, “Wowww” showering her love on the post.

Suhana Khan made debut in 2023 with the coming-of-age teen drama The Archies, inspired by the comic series. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film marked the debut of other star kids like Khushi Kapoor, daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, as well as Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.

After Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, and others, Kriti Sanon gets golden visa for UAE

Kriti Sanon has added another feature to her cap and has joined a host of Bollywood celebrities by receiving the Golden Visa for UAE. The special visa is generally provided to investors, entrepreneurs, individuals with exceptional talents, among others, and the actress has received the honor as a popular Bollywood star. In the past, many of her colleagues like Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, including co-actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, along with several South celebrities have received this special visa.

With this special visa, the owners of the Golden Visa can study, start businesses, and even reside there up to 10 years without any national sponsorship. Kriti Sanon received this from the hands of ECH Digital CEO Iqbal Marconi and she also expressed gratitude by issuing an official statement saying, “It’s an honour to receive the UAE Golden Visa. Dubai has a special place in my heart, and I look forward to being part of its vibrant cultural landscape.”

On the work front, Kriti Sanon, who was last seen in Ganapath, is currently gearing up for a romantic comedy titled Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The film will feature her alongside Shahid Kapoor for the first time and is directed by Amit Joshi – Aradhana Sah. It will feature her in the role of a robot named Sifra and is produced by Maddock Films. It is slated for release during the Valentine’s Week, on February 9. Apart from this, Kriti also has The Crew with Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the pipeline. The actress has now also ventured into production and will be producing her first film titled Do Patti which will also star Kajol.

Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter falls prey to piracy; full movie gets leaked on torrents

According to recent reports, Fighter, which has been garnering rave reviews across, has become a victim of piracy. The film, which brings together Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone for the first time on the big screen, reportedly is based on the life of Indian Air Force officers. Inspired by real life events, the Siddharth Anand directorial is heavy on aerial action and VFX, as well as it is expected to be a one-of-a-kind film which has now been leaked online.

The full movie, reportedly, is available on torrents and other websites which is expected to have released on these platforms on Day 1 of its release, that is, on January 25. From what we hear, the movie, which has been leaked, is even in high-quality HD format and it is being said that this incident can have a heavy impact on its box office collections.

Earlier in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Siddharth Anand had described the challenges he faced when he was thinking of making Fighter. He revealed that he had no background in armed forces and had sought the help of former Air Force officers to pen down this script. The director also faced many difficulties in creating aerial action sequences and he had said, “It was very challenging because it was like keeping a fish out of water. I had no idea how this is done. I just knew what I wanted to do. The how of it was a big journey. It was a journey of two years of prep, planning and extreme research, then getting the air force on board, getting them to allow us to use their airbases, choppers by giving them over 2000 storyboards, showing them how we were going to do our real and believable scenes and we can execute them. It’s been a very long process, which makes War and Pathaan look like very simple films.”

Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone playing Air Force officers, Fighter also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, among others in key roles.

SCOOP: Varun Dhawan’s next with Atlee titled Baby John

Varun Dhawan had an eventful 2023 as his film Bawaal was adjudged as the most-watched OTT flick last year. Atlee, meanwhile, also rocked the show in 2023 with the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan. It was the biggest hit of the year across all languages. This year, both have joined hands for an interesting action entertainer, which also marks Atlee’s first film as a producer. All this while, the film was addressed as VD18, its working title, and as per reports, the film has got a title.

If reports are to be believed, the actioner will be called Baby John. Yesterday, the makers of the film got the Censor Certificate for its teaser from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). That’s when the word spread about its quirky and unique title. Reports also state that Baby John’s teaser will be unveiled in a few days, most probably on Saturday, January 27.

Apart from Varun Dhawan, Baby John also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff. It is directed by Kalees and is backed by Atlee and Priya Atlee’s A For Apple Studios, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios. It is the remake of Atlee’s 2016 directorial Theri, starring Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson.

The film went on floors in August last year in Mumbai, followed by an extensive schedule in Kochi. As per reports, Varun suffered an injury in the Mumbai schedule. The casting is significant as Varun will be seen in an out-and-out massy action role for the first time. Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh is a popular name even for Hindi-speaking markets and this marks her debut Bollywood film. Wamiqa Gabbi, on the other hand, went on a high in 2023 with the success of her web show Jubilee and her web film, Khufiya.

It now remains to be seen when Baby John will be released in cinemas and whether the release date will be unveiled in the teaser.

Fighter Advance Booking Update: Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone film sells 1.40 lakh tickets

Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor’s Fighter has recorded below-average responses in the advance bookings. The Siddharth Anand directorial is closing its advance booking with 1.40 lakh pre-sales in the top three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, which is roughly 55% lower than films like Brahmastra and Tiger 3. The film should have ideally topped at least 2 lakh ticket sales in PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, however, it’s 30 percent lower than even the bare minimum expectations.

With this advance booking, Fighter is targeting an opening day in the zone of Rs. 22 to 24 crores, and that will also happen only if the film commands strong word of mouth and walk-in audiences towards the evening and night shows owing to the National Holiday on Day 2. The bulk business for Fighter is coming in from the national multiplex chains, and the mass audience is awaiting the talk to book their tickets.

Ideally, Fighter should have opened in the North of Rs. 35 crores, but that is not happening and one can list down multiple reasons for the same. It’s a pity that a big-budget aerial action film with top stars and top directors suffered from a very poor marketing and PR campaign and the producers need to relook at their strategies for positioning big-ticket entertainers. A film like Fighter should have easily looked at a Rs. 35 to 40 crore on day one, but there just isn’t enough awareness in the on-ground audience.

The film will be looking to showcase a big jump in collections on January 26 owing to strong word of mouth and it’s the journey from there that will decide the fate of this aerial action thriller.
