Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, who couldn’t make it to the fun evening on March 1, flew to Jamnagar earlier on Saturday, and it seems that they bumped into Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who announced the good news of becoming parents on February 29, were seen having a gala time on March 1 at the cocktail night. The couple seems to have bumped into Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal and the special moment was captured on camera. Moreover, this photo of the four actors coming together went viral on social media. Unlike the black and white elegant combo last evening, Deepika opted for a formal look in her beige pantsuit whereas her flamboyant husband opted for a bright printed shirt matching his persona. Vicky kept it simple in his beige coloured ensemble and his beard suited him well whereas Katrina looked elegant in her floral printed maxi dress.

From what we hear, for the second day of the pre-wedding festivities, the Ambanis and the Merchants had planned a visit to the animal rescue and rehabilitation centre of the Ambanis in Jamnagar as a part of the ‘Walk To The Wild Side’. Post that, the guests were expected to have been escorted to ‘Potpourri of Desi Activities’ which were planned specially for them in the ‘Mela Rogue’ .
On the work front, Deepika Padukone is expected to next be seen as Lady Singham in the Rohit Shetty copverse film Singham Again which will also feature Ranveer Singh as police officer Simmba. The nail-biting thrills and turns in the story makes the viewing worthwhile. And add to that some comedy and sassy banter between the characters and it just takes the show on a new level of entertainment. It takes the tension off from the nail-biting crime plotline for a while and lightens the mood. Such buddy cop comedy stories have been a fan favourite time and again. Unless you have been completely distancing yourself from K-dramas, you must definitely know about Flex X Cop. This K-drama just completed four weeks of airing and since its premiere, it has been a recurring favourite drama to discuss in the community! Flex X Cop marks the reunion of Yumi’s Cells’ duo Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun and this time, they play the leads in this action drama.
Ahn Bo Hyun, who gave an enthralling performance in Military Prosecutor Doberman, returned to the small screen as an eccentric chaebol heir apparent in Flex X Cop. Playing the role of Jin I Soo, the youngest son to the chairman of a conglomerate, Ahn carries his role with ease. He is the typical rich spoiled brat who has the world at his fingertips. He plays hostage rescue games just to pass time. One mistake later, he is trusted into working with real police who solve real crimes and secure real hostages.
Jin I Soo is assigned to work with Lee Gang Hyun (played by Park Ji Hyun), Park Joon Young (played by Kang Sang Jun) and Choi Kyung Jin (played by Kim Shin Bi). Lee Gang Hyun is the team lead and also the daughter of a former detective. Kyung Jin is no less than a fan of Jin I Soo, but the other two are not happy with the situation. But they are forced to cooperate.
Right off the start, Jin I Soo uses his wealth and ease of access to his and the team’s aid to solve cases. He has everything and more that a government-run body could ask for, and he makes no qualms about going out of the way to get the cases solved. This does irk Kang Hyun at the start, but she eventually makes her peace with it. The bromance between Jin I Soo and Joon Young is just the comic relief one needs during the heavy onset of a case.
In last week’s episodes, we inched closer to unravelling the mystery of I Soo’s amnesia. We find that he was hypnotized and mentally manipulated to forget his mother and how she passed away. In recent years, K-dramas have slowly begun to tap into mentions and discourses about mental health. Be it It’s Okay Not To Be Okay or Extraordinary Attorney Woo, a definitive step was surely taken in having a healthy and informed conversation on screen about mental health issues. We see Jin I Soo getting panic attacks and anxiety attacks when he sees a corpse. He brushes it off as just a shock, but eventually, it comes to light that it stems from a past trauma. With last week’s episodes, it became much clearer that the focus of the forthcoming episodes would be more and more on Jin I Soo as he unravels the mystery of his past and at the same time tries to make sense of everything that has happened to him.
Coming to the visual aesthetic of the drama, it is quite pleasing to the eye. The police headquarters barely sport a dash of color whereas Jin I Soo’s residence and assets just reek of color and cash. The drama is paced well with just about seventy minutes of runtime per episode. The comic book-like opening and ending credits add to the ‘fun’ element that the drama so proudly boasts of.
With more and more reveals about each character, their arc progression makes the viewers want to root for them. Jin I Soo, despite being a bratty chaebol heir, remembers his humble upbringing before he joined his father’s family. He is cocky about his privileges but does not misuse them to harm anyone. Kang Hyun is your typical cop who is tough as nails but has a warm heart. Joon Young and Kyung Jin are just cops trying to put in honest work at the end of the day. The quartet is a fun bunch of people who look out for each other but don’t shy away from reprimanding when mistakes are made.
There is also a slight commentary on power and politics, especially with Jin I Soo’s father running for the mayoral elections. Since Flex X Cop is touted to be a crime comedy K-drama, there is bound to be a classic tug-of-war between power and morals.

Karan Johar had a sore throat and yet made a solid statement when asked if he was inspired by South filmmakers while making Yodha.
Karan Johar said, “South ka daur bahut chal raha hai aur woh pehli South Indian film (that boosted the Pan-India wave) was Baahubali and it was presented by us. I can’t take credit for the film. It was S S Rajamouli’s genius and he’s a legend. Lekin aapne Sholay (1975) toh dekhi hogi na? Sholay Hindi film hai, sir! Even today, when you talk of action, toh Sholay se better koi film nahin bani! Hindi cinema ka garv hai Sholay. Hindi cinema ki mohabbat hai Sholay.”

He added, “Yes, we’d like to credit other industries. We filmmakers respect everyone. Lekin humein apne aap ko bhi thoda credit de dena chahiye ki Sholay stambh hai jis par hum sab khade hai.”
He was then asked if he’d like to make a Gujarati film. Karan Johar answered by talking about an upcoming Ajay Devgn film, “An upcoming Hindi film is a remake of a hit Gujarati film. That film is Shaitaan and uska trailer kamaal hai. I can’t wait to see the film. Gujarati cinema has contributed immensely. Our CEO, Apoorva Mehta, is a proud Gujarati. One of Yodha’s director is also a Gujarati. Hence, we’d like to make films in all languages, including Gujarati.”
