Shaitaan Box Office: Ajay Devgn starrer scores a good Monday, is a hit moving to superhit

Shaitaan has scored quite well on Monday with Rs. 7.81 crores coming in. This is also the best Monday for a film in 2024 as Fighter had brought in Rs. 7 crores on its first Monday. Now Shaitaan has scored much better despite a much lesser first day when compared to Fighter, which further goes on to show how stable the film has been. Yes, Article 370 too had held quite well on Monday but that was playing on lower levels. Here, Shaitaan had a double digit Friday of Rs. 15.21 crores and from there – which was a partial holiday – to now Monday which is a regular day, the film has held up quite well.

The film has been lapped up well by family audiences as well despite its supernatural theme and the father-daughter angle with a ‘shaitaan’ in the mix of things had generated quite some sentiments. While the promo was set as a thrilling ride for the audience, it’s the emotional angle which has worked rather well and that’s something bringing in audiences in multiplexes as well as single screens, and that too at big as well as small centres.

When something like that happens then a film is on for a long haul and director Vikas Behl can be pleased with the fact that there would be a lot of build-up that his Shaitaan will enjoy from here. The film had already collected Rs. 62.94 crores and while Rs. 80 crores would be crossed this week itself and a century would be scored within the second weekend, what needs to be seen is where does it land up eventually. As of now, a lifetime in the vicinity of Rs. 150 crores is a possibility which means Shaitaan is already a bit which is moving towards being a super hit at the box office.

Karisma Kapoor reflects on ’90s film choices; says Hero No. 1 shifted career trajectory: “We went by instinct, energy and passion”

Karisma Kapoor, renowned for her iconic roles in 90s Bollywood, is all set for her next project, Netflix’s Murder Mubarak. Amidst nostalgic reminiscence, she delved into the evolution of storytelling, emphasizing the industry’s dynamic shifts over the decades.

Karisma Kapoor reflects on '90s film choices; says Hero No. 1 shifted career trajectory “We went by instinct, energy and passion”

In an interview with Film Companion, Karisma said, “At that time, we just worked. There was no calculation, there was nothing like that. We went by instinct and we just went by energy and passion. We actually worked like that. It was never calculated like ‘Oh, if I do this song, if I do this film, this will happen.’ There was nobody to tell us and advise us, no PR teams and stylists, there was nothing. We just were there on the set and made films happen.”

So when did things shift for her? She said, “So honestly, I think when Hero No. 1 happened, I think from that movie in that commercial space, things kind of changed. Then obviously, it went on to films like Raja Hindustani or Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Somewhere I feel from Hero No. 1, that’s just a personal.”

The trailer of Murder Mubarak was launched on March 5 amid the presence of media in Mumbai. Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, and directed by Homi Adajania, this murder mystery boasts an exceptional ensemble cast including Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Suhail Nayyar and Aashim Gulati.

Salman Khan says his cricketing days are long over “Industry mein bahut accha kar raha hoon”

Salman Khan said, “Woh mera cricket khelne ka time chala gaya hai. Agar main cricket khel raha hota toh main aaj commentary bhi nahi de raha hota. Woh bhi umar chali gayi. Achha kar raha hoon aap logo ki dua se industry mein. Industry mein bahut achha kar raha hoon and it’s all because of you (My time for playing cricket has passed. If I were still playing cricket, I wouldn’t even be doing commentary today. That time has also passed. I am doing well in the industry, thanks to your blessings. I am doing very well in the industry, and it’s all because of you). Thank you to my audience and my fans.”

In a conversation with the match host, Salman said, “I am glad that CCL continued for so many years. We had no idea that it would turn out like that when we did the first season. Back then the Mumbai team used to take it more as a fun activity but since the beginning south industry has always been more competitive. I think that also motivated the other teams to raise their level and perform better. I see all these boys working so hard, not just Mumbai Heroes but also other teams, and that makes me so proud of the film fraternity.”
