Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law Rajesh dies in road accident, sister Sarita critically injured: Reports

Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi has suffered a devastating loss. On Saturday, April 20, his brother-in-law, Rajesh Tiwari, passed away in a car accident that critically injured Tripathi’s sister, Sarita Tiwari. The accident occurred near GT Road in Nirsa, Jharkhand, around 4 pm.

The couple, travelling from their hometown in Bihar to West Bengal, reportedly lost control of their car (WB44D-2899) and collided with a divider at high speed. The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle, with the front end sustaining extensive damage.

As per a report in Hindustan Times, with the help of local residents, police rushed both Rajesh and Sarita Tiwari to Dhanbad Medical College Hospital. Tragically, Rajesh Tiwari succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead by emergency room doctors. Sarita Tiwari, however, received emergency treatment and is currently in critical condition in the hospital’s surgical ICU.

Rajesh Tiwari, who worked for the Indian Railways and was stationed in Chittaranjan, West Bengal, was reportedly returning home from his village in Bihar when the accident occurred. This news comes as another blow to Tripathi, who lost his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, in August 2023 at the age of 99.

On the work front, Pankaj Tripathi was recently seen in the Netflix movie Murder Mubarak.

Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated sci-fi extravaganza, Kalki 2898 AD, continues to fuel excitement with every update. Industry insiders have revealed to Bollywood Hungama that there is a strong possibility of the film releasing on May 24, with June as an alternative but less likely option. The official announcement this Sunday is expected to confirm these speculations.

Ahead of the grand reveal on Sunday, the makers unveiled a new poster of Amitabh Bachchan. The poster portrays Bachchan as a sage-like figure, sitting in a seemingly cavernous setting bathed in sunlight. The megastar’s face is obscured by a thick beard and full face covered. The announcement will be made on April 21 at 7:15 pm on Star Sports India coinciding with Indian Premier League. “The time has come to know who he is! Exclusively on @StarSportsIndia at 7:15 PM on April 21^st,” said the makers in a post on X.

A few days ago, Bollywood Hungama revealed that the theatrical rights of the sci-fi saga for North India have been sold to Anil Thadani for Rs. 100 crores, making it the second biggest after Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film is gearing up to release by the end of May.

Kalki 2898 AD is a multilingual project directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. The film garnered immense global attention after its debut at San Diego Comic-Con last year.

Readers may recall that a day before Nysa’s birthday, Kajol had penned a note for her daughter. It read, “Tomorrow is Nysas 21st birthday but today is about me and how I became a mom. Sonali Bendre recalls becoming a “caricature” in Duplicate: “Sometimes you do things for that paycheck”

Actress Sonali Bendre is gearing up for the second season of her Zee5 series The Broken News. In a recent interview with IndiaToday.in, Bendre looked back on her filmography, discussing a project that left a significant mark on her career – the 1998 film Duplicate.

Duplicate, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan in a double role alongside Juhi Chawla, presented Sonali with an opportunity to portray a complex character. “I was approached to play a grey character,” she said, expressing her initial excitement about the challenge. “We started preparing for the role and shooting accordingly, but as things progressed, I felt I became a caricature rather than the nuanced character I envisioned.”

Sonali’s experience on Duplicate offered valuable lessons. “Every time a Duplicate song is played and people mention the film, the thing that I remember the most is the fact that how much a story can get de-railed and how much you can start with something and where it goes,” she explained. “For me, that was a huge learning experience. As time goes by, you start thinking whether I misinterpreted something or it was the other way around,” she added further.

Concluding her point, Sonali asserted, “But then, as you go forward, sometimes you do things for that paycheck, but other than that, in my second innings, I don’t want to be slotted and boxed, and I want to do characters that break this stereotype.”

Speaking of The Broken News, it also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Jay Upadhyay, Indraneil Sengupta, Taaruk Raina, Aakash Khurana and Kiran Kumar. The second season of the show will start streaming on the OTT platform from May 3 onwards.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is expected to hit theaters on India’s Independence Day in 2025. The film is a sequel to the 2019 action thriller War, which starred Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vani Kapoor. Discussing the highly-anticipated sequel, actor Ashutosh Rana, who appeared in both War and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan as Colonel Luthra, spoke to ANI, saying: “We are going to start soon, I hope the way everyone loved War and Pathaan they will also like War 2. This is a spy universe and in it the missions themselves are thrilling, so the audience will enjoy it.”
