Kanguva announces release date; Suriya starrer to clash with Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra

Coming from the house of Studio Green, the much-awaited Kanguva starring Suriya, is indeed one of the biggest films that everyone is eagerly looking forward to. With the film bringing together Suriya and Bobby Deol, who are expected to have a massive showdown in the film, this has definitely piqued excitement among audiences who are curious to know more about the film. Now the makers have finally announced the film’s release date as October 10, 2024.

With the new poster, the makers of ‘Kanguva’ made this grand announcement of the release date on social media along with the caption, “Ready yourselves to welcome the Warrior King ?? Our #Kanguva is set to conquer your hearts and screens from October 10, 2024 ????? #KanguvaFromOct10 ??” Interestingly, Kanguva is expected to release in several languages beyond South and Hindi.

About three releases are scheduled to release on October 11 which majorly includes Jigra, that marks the return of Alia Bhatt in theatres (in a Bollywood film) after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani last year.  The film also stars The Archies star Vedang Raina and marks his first theatrical release. Besides this, makers of Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri starrer comedy drama Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Vala Video and Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde starrer cop-action entertainer Deva too have also announced the same release date.

Kanguva promises a raw, rustic, and new visual experience to the audience with human emotions, powerful performances, and never-before-seen action sequences on a massive scale. The film features cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and a musical score by ‘Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad. Considered as one of the most expensive film of this year with an estimated budget of over Rs. 350 Cr., the film has been shot across 7 different countries on various continents of India.

We hear that the makers have created a very specific look while showing the prehistoric period and that they hired experts from Hollywood for the technical departments like action and cinematography. The film has one of the biggest war sequences featuring over 10,000 people. While the teaser gave a glimpse of its enormous and thrilling world, it will also be presenting the Tamil superstar Suriya in a never-before-seen avatar of the Mighty Warrior whereas Bobby Deol as the antagonist.

Jio Studios locks all three BIG festivals and holidays of second half of 2024 for the release of their exciting releases: Stree 2, Singham Again, Baby John

Yesterday, the fans and trade got a surprise as it was announced that Baby John will now arrive on Christmas. It was originally scheduled to be released in theatres on May 31 but now has been pushed to December 25. It is backed by Jio Studios and in an interesting development, the production house has managed to book all the three major holidays of 2024 for their exciting releases. While Stree 2 will arrive on Independence Day (August 15), Singham Again has been locked for a Diwali release. This decision marks a significant step in Jio Studios’ efforts to capitalize on festive periods, which traditionally see higher cinema footfalls.

Stree 2 is the sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy hit, Stree. The original star cast – Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi – feature in the second installment. The film is even more awaited after the success of the recent release Munjya, which was also set in the same cinematic universe. It is also produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and directed by Amar Kaushik.

Singham Again, meanwhile, has tremendous buzz due to the association of blockbuster director Rohit Shetty. Ajay once again reprises his role of Bajirao Singham and this time, he’s joined by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff. Though it’ll clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is another highly awaited film, the charismatic presence of its leading man, the high-octane action (a hallmark of the series) and its patriotic fervour are sure to pull in viewers.

Finally, Baby John stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi and is produced by Jawan director Atlee. Details about Baby John are still under wraps, but buzz suggests it will be a family-oriented film with a mix of humour and heartwarming moments. Christmas, a time for family gatherings and celebrations, could provide the perfect setting for audiences to flock to theatres for this flick.

With this strategic scheduling, Jio Studios not only aims to maximize viewership but also sets the stage for setting new box office records. As the second half of 2024 approaches, movie enthusiasts have much to look forward to, and Jio Studios’ holiday trio will undoubtedly be at the centre of cinematic excitement.

After receiving immense role for her role as Bibbojaan in the recently released web-series Heeramandi, Aditi Rao Hydari recently took off to London to fulfill her other commitments. The actress, however, was extremely upset over the baggage ordeal and took to social media to share her disappointing experience at the Heathrow airport. The actress apparently had to wait for over 2-3 hours to get her own baggage and described the issue in a series of posts.

In a series of videos and photos she posted on her Instagram story, Aditi Rao Hydari described her awful experience at the Heathrow airport as she continued to wait for the arrival of her baggage. In the first post she said, “Heathrow chaos x 10000 2 hours at an empty luggage belt! (vomiting face emoji) @heathrow_airport Worst!!!!!!! (angry face emoji)”.

In yet another post, she shared a screenshot of her conversation with Heathrow airport’s official social media page where she took up the issue with the authorities of the airport but received a response where the airport clearly denied ‘any control’ over the ‘baggage handling process’. Upset over their response, Aditi shared the screenshot of the same along with a caption that read, “Heathrow their hands off any answers”.

In a series of posts, the actress started a countdown which went on to 32 hours, which is more than da day, wherein she revealed that she has not received her baggage, further asserting that the airport authorities have refused to take any responsibility. “And 17 hours later Another countdown @british airways Where is my luggage? Where is our luggage? #gutsontoast”. Her recent post read, “32 hours and ticking @british_airways and @heathrow_airport Show zero accountability and are conveniently MIA.”

Meanwhile Aditi also shared details of the ordeal and slammed the airways and the airport in a post on the social media platform X, aka Twitter, wherein she wrote, “19 hours and ticking….  Also,  @British_Airways just putting it out there. This isn’t my first rodeo with the brits…watch #Heeramandi on  @NetflixIndia and you’ll know that I’m not one to go down without a fight for justice! So can you free our bags! ASAP! I have a conference to attend, and the essentials I’ll need for it will not meet your criteria for essentials”.

The actress made an entrance with the song ‘Afreen Afreen’ in the background along with Saqib Saleem and others carrying the ‘phoolon ka chaadar’ (loosely translated as flower blanket) over her head.

Meanwhile, in another video shared by the actor turned politician, the proud father is seen doing ‘Kanyadaan’ (an important Hindu marriage ritual) along with a priest reciting mantras. Richa Chadha expresses gratitude towards fans

“Loved being exclusively in Indian wear through the promotions! #Latergram from promoting #heeramandionnetflix. Cuz the future will be better but the past is better than the present today LOLOL. It’s been almost 2 WHOLE months but i am getting endless love for LAJJO. Hence the smile,” and added several emojis in order to thank her fans for giving her so much love for the show.

In the same post, she also asked her husband-actor Ali Fazal to return home soon since they will have to make the house baby-ready. “@alifazal9 come home soon. We got work to do, the house needs baby proofing.”
