Rakul Preet Singh’s brother Aman Preet Singh arrested in Hyderabad drug bust

Aman Preet Singh, the brother of star Rakul Preet Singh, was detained in Hyderabad along with four others for allegedly using cocaine.

After raid on a flat in Hydershakotla in Narsingi, Telangana police said, “We seized 199 grams of cocaine worth ₹ 35 lakh, two passports, two bikes, 10 cell phones and other incriminating material from their possession.”

The Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau, Cyberabad Police’s Special Operations Team (SOT), and Rajendranagar Police detained five drug dealers, including two Nigerians, for distributing cocaine to high-profile clientele in the city.

Avinash Mohanty, the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, stated that Aman is one of those clients.

Five of the 13 users were detained, and all five had positive cocaine tests on their urine samples.

Aniketh, Prasad, Aman, Madhu, and Nikhil are the five individuals detained.

“It is an ardent request from Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs and request the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police,” the Telangana police said in a statement.

Rakul Preet Singh was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate last year for a narcotics trafficking and usage case. The investigating agency recorded the 33-year-old actor’s statement in this case in both 2022 and 2021.

Sanya Malhotra starrer Mrs to have its Australian Premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 (IFFM) is set to showcase one of its highlight centerpiece films, Mrs, starring Sanya Malhotra. The film, directed by Arati Kadav, will have its Australian premiere at the festival. Both Sanya Malhotra and director Arati Kadav are scheduled to attend the event.

Mrs delves into the intricate life of a woman, portrayed by Sanya Malhotra, who is a trained dancer and dance teacher. After her marriage, she faces the challenges of being a wife while striving to discover her own path and voice. The film explores her journey of self-expression amidst societal expectations imposed on her marital life. The film is the Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Malayalam film “The Great Indian Kitchen” and also features Kanwaljit Singh and Nishant Dahiya in pivotal roles. Presented by Jio Studios in association with Baweja Studios, Mrs is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Pammi Baweja, and Harman Baweja. Sanya previously won the Best Actress award for the film at the New York Indian Film Festival and has also earned the nomination nod for the Best Actress category for IFFM 2024.

Speaking about the film’s Australian premiere, Sanya Malhotra expressed her excitement, “I am thrilled and honored that Mrs will have its Australian premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 will be held from August 15 to August 25, marking its 15th year as the largest celebration of Indian cinema outside of India. The festival, which is the only Indian film festival outside of India backed by the government of another country, continues to bring diverse and compelling stories to the festival each year.

Bakhtiyaar Irani reveals last-minute casting change in Sara Ali Khan’s Ae Watan Mere Watan; recalls losing 8kg for role: “It was a very big jhatka”

Actor Bakhtiyaar Irani shared an interesting tidbit in a recent interview. He revealed that he was originally cast in Dharma Productions’ film Ae Watan Mere Watan, starring Sara Ali Khan, but was replaced at the final stages.

Bakhtiyaar Irani On Preparing For Ae Watan Mere Watan Role

During his appearance on Inside The Mind With Rushabh, Bakhtiyaar spoke about being approached for the historical biopic. Excited about the opportunity, he even underwent a physical transformation for the part. “The director told me I was too bulky for the 1940s setting,” he said. Following a strict diet and workout plan, Bakhtiyaar managed to lose 8 kgs in just a month and a half.

Bakhtiyaar Irani On Being Replaced At The Last Minute 

“Everything seemed finalized,” Bakhtiyaar continued. “The director said ‘next week contract signing’ and I told my close circle – about 30 people – because I was so sure.” However, the contract signing never happened. The role eventually went to another actor.

Uncertain Reasons for Replacement

Bakhtiyaar admitted his disappointment, attributing the change to bad luck. He also expressed his lack of understanding behind the decision. “Bigger name, not necessarily a good actor,” he stated, highlighting that he had undergone proper auditions and impressed the director.

The Role in Question

While Bakhtiyaar didn’t directly name the character, it’s believed to be the role of Firdaus Engineer, portrayed by Anand Tiwari in the film. Interestingly, Anand Tiwari has since gone on to direct Dharma Productions’ upcoming film Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk.
