Good Partner premiered on July 12. The drama follows Cha Eun Kyung (Jang Na Ra), a successful and celebrated divorce lawyer, and her journey dealing with various divorce cases including one of her own. She is joined by Han Yu Ri (Nam Ji Hyun), a freshly graduate and newly appointed lawyer. Han is assigned to the divorce team led by Cha. Han wants to join the Corporate Law team and is clearly disappointed with her new assignment.

Han’s reluctance to be a divorce lawyer and deal with broken marriages stems from her own parents’ separation. Her father had an affair and betrayed her trust in the institution of marriage. In a series of short flashbacks, we come to know how her father’s affair ruined Yu Ri and her mother’s prospective happiness. There is definitely more to be discovered about Yu Ri’s past, but this initial revelation sets the tone. Her work ethics lean more towards human morals and emotions whereas Cha Eun Kyung’s approach is more methodical and profit-aligned.

Divorce and separation is a difficult process for anyone to go through. There is one struggle to detach oneself mentally and there is another struggle to run to the courthouse to get the divorce legalised. For some, divorce is a means of getting as many assets and alimony as possible. But for others, it is a more human tale of losing someone they once loved. It gets trickier and testing if there are children involved.

As episode two of Good Partner concluded, we saw that Cha Eun Kyung and Han Yu Ri deal with a tricky situation as Eun Kyung’s husband’s affair is revealed. Eun Kyung has a great reputation as a celebrated divorce lawyer. But now that her marriage is on the verge of breaking up, it will be interesting to see how she tackles a situation. Her internal battle of being a wife and a lawyer will make for an intriguing watch.

Coming to the visual aspect of the drama, there is a tasteful and crisp visual representation of the courthouse and the lawyers chambers. When one works in one of the most popular law firms in the country, one is bound to receive the best of amenitites. Eun Kyung and Yu Ri’s workplace is a spotless arena of organized chaos. As the lawyers and paralegals work through the cases, they also have to face the emotional outbursts of their clients.

The drama is paced at a decent 70-minute run for each episode. There are a few stretched moments to let a particular sink in. The intensity of the drama is just beginning to uncover. We have long seen dramas about prosecutors fighting tooth and nail to uphold justice. Watching a series of divorce cases unfold on screen will definitely add to the spice and variety of watching a courtroom drama.

Good Partner is generating positive buzz after a strong premiere.  The second episode secured an impressive 8.7% average viewership rating, topping its time slot across all channels according to Nielsen Korea. This promising start bodes well for the legal drama, which follows the unlikely partnership between a veteran divorce lawyer and a passionate rookie. While the show’s long-term success remains to be seen, the initial reception suggests viewers are captivated by the dynamic duo of Cha Eun Kyung and Han Yu Ri. Their contrasting personalities and approaches to law promise an entertaining and thought-provoking exploration of the complexities of family law.

Sushmita Sen has refuted reports that she is currently dating anyone. The actress is reported to be dating her ex-boyfriend Rohman Shawl. In the first episode of actress Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Sushmita disclosed that she had been single for two years. She revealed that, although she has fantastic pals, she is not presently dating anyone.

As per report by HT she said, “I have no man in my life. I’ve been single for a while. It has been almost two years since I have been single, to be precise since 2021… I am not in a relationship. I have some incredibly wonderful people in my life who are my friends and they are all just waiting for a moment for me to call them and say, ‘Look, I’m pulling the car out, get in the backseat. We’re driving to Goa.”

The former Miss Universe announced that she is taking a break from dating and enjoying it. She said, “I am not even interested in anyone at the moment. It is lovely to take a break because I was in a relationship for almost five years. And that was a long time.”

Rhea also teased Sushmita, stating, “Do you know there’s a bigger gold digger than you in the room?” Sushmita said, “Oh, really?” Rhea said, “Me.” Sushmita then added sarcastically, “Oh, you also?” Rhea responds, “I’m the biggest one.”

Jackie Shroff gave the newlywed pair plants as a confirmed gift. Anant Ambani’s parents, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, also gave the newlyweds some lavish presents, including a luxury villa with a large 3,000-square-foot space on Palm Jumeirah. The luxury mansion, which has ten bedrooms and a private beach, is valued more than Rs. 640 crore.

Aside from that, Anant received a Bentley Continental GTC Speed vehicle worth Rs 5.42 crore, while his wife, Radhika, received custom-made jewellery from Mukesh and Nita, including a Cartier brooch for Rs 21.7 crore and a pearl and diamond choker worth Rs. 108 lakh.

According to the story, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg handed them a private plane worth Rs. 300 crore.

According to the story, Bill Gates donated a diamond ring valued Rs. 9 crore. However, another video published on X said that Bill Gates gave Anant and Radhika a luxury boat worth Rs. 180 crores.

Furthermore, Sundar Pichai offered them a helicopter worth Rs. 100 crore, while Ivanka Trump gave them a magnificent property in the United States for Rs. 80 crore.

According to a report in BolywoodLife, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal gave the newlyweds a gold chain worth Rs.19 lakh. Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani both sent a handmade shawl worth Rs. 25 lakh, while Akshay Kumar gave a gold pen valued Rs. 60 lakh.

According to the report, Shah Rukh Khan presented a magnificent flat in France worth Rs. 40 crore, while the Bachchans offered an emerald neckpiece worth Rs. 30 crore. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor presented them a Mercedes valued Rs. 9 crore. Makeup artist hits back at Anurag Kashyap after the latter slams entourage culture; says, “In his films, he will have to call me to get the dark circles. That’s what his heroines look like”

After Anurag Kashyap set news reports abuzz with his comments as he called out the ‘entourage culture’, makeup artist Shaan Muttathil, who has been working as a hair stylist for Jacqueline Fernandez for years, have hit back at the filmmaker. The makeup artist, who have also styled Radhika Merchant in the past, called out the filmmaker by addressing the de-glam avatars of actors in his films by stating that his actresses wear Rs. 250 worth cotton sarees in his films.

Makeup artist accuses Anurag Kashyap of being jealous

During the Phitte Muh podcast, Shaan slammed Anurag Kashyap by stating that he is jealous of the kind of money makeup artists and other team members of the entourage earn. “What Anurag sir is saying is his world, his bubble. But there’s another world too. Will this Anurag sir, after so many hits, go and do a movie for what a newcomer director will do? No. Of course, there’s a lot of jealousy, and I completely understand. Because we do get paid more than managers, than first ADs, and people in the camera department,” he said.

Further adding that his films feature women wearing Rs. 250 worth cotton sarees, Shaan went on to criticize the way actors are presented in his films. “Of course, he can lose his s**t when he hears Rs. 1.5 lakh for makeup and hair when his heroines don’t need makeup and hair, I understand. But not everybody gets paid Rs. 1 lakh or Rs. 2 lakh. There are only around 10 of us. First of all, I wouldn’t get a call from him. In his films, he will have to call me to get the dark circles and to make the hair look frizzy. That’s what his heroines look like.”

In a recent interview, Anurag Kashyap described the losses incurred by producers after they have to abide by the star and their entourage’s wishes. The filmmaker touched upon the subject of budget wherein he made shocking revelations about the exorbitant prices charged by an actor’s team which often results in the film going over-budget. He had opened up about it in an interview with Janice Sequeira wherein he said, “Somebody has a chef who charges ₹2 lakh per day to make this strange healthy food. Jo dekh ke lagta tha ye khana hai? Yeh to bird feed hai. Itna chhota sa aata tha (After seeing it, it doesn’t even look like food. It looks so less, like a bird feed)”.

He said, “It’s all very well to ask people coming out of the theatre what they felt, but we need to catch some people, the youngsters, and say, ‘Let’s sit down and have a chat and talk about what did you actually see, what was going through your mind?’ It would make a very interesting subject. I’m going to catch Abhishek and my granddaughter, and have a chat with them.”

Readers would be aware that Amitabh Bachchan features in a never-seen-before avatar of the immortal Ashwattama in the film. The megastar has been winning a lot of praises and opening up about was the film’s director Nag Ashwin, who said, “I know you don’t like this, but this is one of the few chances we have to thank you for your patience. The whole country, whoever I speak to, but they say it’s such a pleasure to see you in that avatar. I did a bunch of interviews, and everybody just said, ‘Thank you for giving us this Amitabh Bachchan’.”

Responding to these lovely words, Amitabh shared, “I just feel that the compliment isn’t to me, it’s to the concept and the character. It speaks volumes about the film. It’s not a compliment about a certain star, and they liked their performance, and so on and so forth… When they compliment a Prabhas or a Deepika, they’re actually complimenting the concept of the director, Nagi, who was able to conceive and put together this story.”

About Kalki 2898 AD

Inspired by the Indian prophecy about the tenth avatar of Vishnu, which is expected to the modern-day avatar of the Lord as Kalki, the film is set in the post-apocalyptic dystopian era with Kamal Haasan being in complete control of the new world as the dictator Supreme Yaskin, Deepika Padukone as one of his pregnant subject SUM-80 aka Sumathi, Prabhas as bounty hunter Bhairava in lead roles.
