EXCLUSIVE: Varun Dhawan wants to do a film with Arjun Kapoor; has requested Anees Bazmee to do a film with #Varjun

With Jugjugg Jeeyo that hit the theatres recently, we can see that Varun Dhawan is all in form to entertain cinema goers in his quintessential Bollywood style. While he plays the role of Anil Kapoor’s son in this fun family entertainer, he was seen speaking about working with his onscreen father’s nephew Arjun Kapoor. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Varun revealed that fans can see #Varjun become a reality since he is keen on working with Arjun Kapoor.

Recently, Arjun Kapoor expressed his desire to work with Varun Dhawan on Bollywood Hungama. Followed by the same, when Varun was asked to respond to this Kapoor boy’s wish, the former replied that while he is ready with his dates, it is Arjun who seems to be the busy bee. In his quirky manner, Varun said, “Main unke saath 100% film karna chahta hoon par woh mujhe dates nahi de rahe. Isiliye maine Anil Kapoor ke saath film kar liya. Aur phir bhi dates nahi diye toh main Boney Kapoor ke saath film kar loonga aur phir Sanjay Kapoor ke saath. Unke family aise bahut log hain.” (I want to work with him for sure, 100 percent but he is the one who doesn’t give me the dates. Because of that I have now worked with Anil Kapoor, then later, if he continues this, I will work with Boney Kapoor and then with Sanjay Kapoor too. There are many members in that family I can work with.)”

Referring to the popular hashtag on social media,#Varjun, Varun asserted that they will do a film soon. He added,  “We definitely want to work together and in fact humne Anees Sir ko bhi kahan hai ki humare saath ek film karein. (I have even spoken to Anees Sir asking him if he can do a film with us). Definitely we will work together. Waise Arjun is also looking so fit and good. He is getting a lot of female attention.”

Speaking of Jugjugg Jeeyo, the film also stars Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor along with Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli. Directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, the film released on June 24.

Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films greenlights six new films starring Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Shraddha Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and others!

Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is getting back into action with full force post the pandemic. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that Dinesh Vijan has greenlit as many as six new films in a range of genres for 2022–23 release. All these yet unannounced movies will be content-driven dramas made on tight budgets and will star actors such as John Abraham, Shraddha Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Yami Gautam, and Ayushmann Khurrana among others.

Revealing the lucrative lineup of Maddock Films, a source close to the development informed Bollywood Hungama, “Dinesh Vijan is scaling up his production lineup and has planned to roll at least six new films this year. This is in addition to his already announced films such as Bhediya, Tehran, and the yet-untitled Laxman Utekar film with Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan. There’s so much going on at Maddock Films right now, and the energy level out there is at an all-time high. You’ll soon hear multiple announcements coming out of Maddock Films, and mind you, it’s all very exciting.”

The sources revealed that the company has already started shooting for two new films. One is the recently announced as Sector 36, a crime-thriller based on the Nithari serial murder that stars Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal in the lead, while the other is a female-oriented story that features Huma Qureshi and one more young actress. Come next month and John Abraham’s geo-political thriller Tehran will also start filming in the United Kingdom, eyeing a release in the first quarter of 2023. Vijan has also signed Vaani Kapoor for a social-comedy film, titled Sarvagunn Sampanna, which will see her playing a porn star look-alike fighting for her integrity in society. The Shonali Rattan Deshmukh-directed film will begin production in August.

Dinesh Vijan has then lined up a thriller film, titled Teacher’s Day, with Tabu headlining the cast. Mikhil Musale, who made his Bollywood debut with Vijan’s Rajkummar Rao-starrer Made in China, is directing this film that sees the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actress playing the role of a teacher for the first time in her three-decade career. The film will begin production in mid-August in Pune, and Vijan will begin work on the highly anticipated Stree prequel soon after. Shraddha Kapoor returns to tell the backstory of the girl who came to Stree and the complications she brought along, in this new part, titled Munjha. Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar will direct this new film in Vijan’s horror-comedy cinematic universe.

These confirmed projects aside, Dinesh Vijan is working on several more films and is in talks with actors such as Ayushmann Khurrana, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rakul Preet, Kiara Advani, Pooja Hegde, and Tara Sutaria, among others. The producer has also signed Akshay Kumar for an action-based thrilling drama set against the backdrop of the Indian Air Force, which will go on floors in the first quarter of next year. They are also doing a comedy-thriller with Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal, which is shot and ready and will soon be released on an OTT platform. Laxman Utekar is also directing one more film for the banner, however, the details of that are not known as yet. They are also working on the adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s best-selling novel, Club You to Death.

In addition to all these feature films, Maddock Films has also lined up two web series for the coming year. While the Amazon Prime series, Jee Karda is a coming-of-age show that delves into the lives of a close-knit group of seven childhood friends, trying to steer their way through adulthood, and stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Aashim Gulati, Anya Singh, and Hussain Dalal in the lead, its Disney+ Hotstar series Saas Bahu Aur Cocaine which is a crime-thriller revolving around women working in the drug business. Radhika Madan and Dimple Kapadia play the leads in this Homi Adajania-directed show.

Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who tied the knot in April 2022, are expecting their first child. The actress, who is currently in London shooting for her Hollywood film Heart Of Stone, took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy news. Alia Bhatt on Monday took to her Instagram to share a photo from the hospital in which she and Ranbir Kapoor are seeing a sonogram. “Our baby ….. coming soon.”

Since the announcement dropped on Instagram, Alia Bhatt’s comment section is filled with congratulatory messages from fans, friends, and colleagues from the industry.

Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Ishaan Khatter, Tiger Shroff, and Ranbir’s sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni among others sent their best wishes to the pair.

Even popular Thai actor Mile Phakphum Romsaithong, who is currently starring in the popular series KinnPorsche, took to comment sections to congratulate Alia. It is to be noted that ever since Gangubai Kathiawadi arrived on Netflix, the actress has become quite popular among Thailand actors. Many have taken to social media in the last couple of months to praise Alia’s performance.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got hitched in an intimate ceremony on April 14 with close friends and family in attendance. The couple dated for several years before getting married. Their ceremony was widely covered in news and on social media.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will star in Brahmastra which is releasing on September 9, 2022. The film is helmed by Ayan Mukerji.

Shah Rukh Khan makes first stage appearance with Umang 2022, performs on ‘I am the Best’ song, watch video

This past weekend, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated three decades in the film industry as his debut film Deewana completed 30  years. Marking the day, he went live on Instagram to talk to fans about his journey and his upcoming film Pathaan. Following that, the actor made his first stage appearance on Sunday at Umang 2022.

Shah Rukh Khan attended Mumbai Police’s s annual event, Umang, and entertained the cops with his dance performance. He was dressed in a black suit as he grooved to his song, ‘I am the Best’ from the film Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

Arjun Kapoor enjoys burgers and fries on 37th birthday with girlfriend Malaika Arora in Paris: ‘Sunday hai aur birthday bhi hai’

Arjun Kapoor rang in his birthday in Paris with his ladylove Malaika Arora. The actor, who has been working non-stop on back-to-back film projects without taking any break, has taken a break for vacation in Paris with his girlfriend Malaika Arora. Both the stars have been sharing glimpses from their trip.

Malaika Arora took to social media on Sunday to share a series of photos in which the two of them were enjoying brunch together. While Arjun was eating a burger, she was enjoying a bowl of fries.
