Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Om Raut to have grand launch for Adipurush teaser and poster in Ayodhya on October 2

Filmmaker Om Raut is gearing up for Adipurush. Starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Singh, the film has grabbed the eyeballs since its inception. After a long wait, the much-anticipated teaser and poster of the film are set to be unveiled on 2nd October on the bank of Sarayu in the holy land of Lord Ram, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The grand event will be graced with the presence of superstar Prabhas and Kriti Sanon along with director Om Raut and producer Bhushan Kumar.

The film is based on the epic of Ramayana, showcasing the triumph of good over evil. This religious town in Uttar Pradesh is also the birthplace of Lord Ram, making the location much more relevant for this grand event. The poster, as well as the teaser, will reflect the scale of the film.

The film is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. Produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles, the film features Prabhas as Lord Ram, while Kriti plays the role of Janaki (Sita). It also stars Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh and Sunny Singh as Lakshman.

Adipurush is a visual extravaganza slated to release on January 12, 2023, in IMAX and 3D. It will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam in theatres.

Mani Ratnam reveals Ponniyin Selvan was offered to Kamal Haasan but was shelved

Director Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan is finally nearing its release. The first instalment of the film, PS 1 will release this week. Right before that, the team of the film visited Mumbai where they interacted with the media and had some interesting revelations to make. While the media was thrilled to get talented filmmaker Mani Ratnam, popular actors like Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi together on stage, the filmmaker revealed that had his initial plan of Ponniyin Selvan worked, it would have had a different cast with Kamal Haasan in the lead.

During the media interaction in Mumbai, Mani Ratnam revealed that he initially planned Ponniyin Selvan years ago when he directed Kamal Haasan in the Tamil film Nayakan (1987). He went on to say, “Like I told you, that MGR, MG Ramachandran wanted to make and he had set up cast. And then later I thought of doing this film after I did a film called Nayakan with Kamal and we both wanted to do this film. So at that time, we hadn’t started casting. We just had Kamal Haasan as the hero and we were working on the script. And it didn’t get materialized because it was too big to be put into a single film and we couldn’t afford it. So we left it back. So that’s what history of Ponniyin Selvan is.”

Speaking of Ponniyin Selvan, the film boasts of an ensemble cast which also includes actors like Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi playing pivotal roles. The film will have Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan, Trisha as Kunadavai, Jayam Ravi as Arulmozhi Varman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini, among others. PS 1 is slated to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on September 30.

Katrina Kaif attends school’s Founder’s Day in Tamil Nadu with mother and brother Sebastian; Ileana D’Cruz calls it ‘lovely’

Katrina Kaif, who was recently seen on Koffee With Karan 7, is gearing up for the release of the horror-comedy Phone Bhoot with Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The actress recently met up with her mother and brother as the trio attended Founders Day at the Mountain View School in Madurai. The actress not only posted photos of her bonding with the kids but also shared videos of her dancing with them on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Katrina Kaif posted a series of photos featuring her dancing with kids and also posing with the staff of the school. There was yet another photo showcasing the actress attending the ribbon ceremony as they opened classrooms in the school. Speaking about the experience, Katrina penned a lovely note on Instagram along with the photos and videos saying, “Celebrating Founders Day On Saturday, we at Mountain View School held a celebration of life for our founder who passed away last year. The Performances by teachers and children, along with some special guests made this such a special time. We also inaugurated three new classrooms, thanks to donations from benefactors.”

The actress went on to add, “Following out 2021 fundraiser. On the other hand, Ileana D’Cruz, who is expected to be dating Katrina’s brother Sebastian also commented on it saying, “Awwww that’s just lovely.”

On the work front, besides Phone Bhoot, Katrina Kaif has Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi in the pipeline. The actress is also expected to start work on Jee Le Zara which also stars Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra.

Ram Setu: Teaser of Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez starrer gives us a glimpse of the long-lost world of the legend

Ram Setu is one of the most anticipated films, created in association with Cape of Good Films, Lyca and Abundantia Entertainment. The Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez starrer is an action-adventure film and the makers recently decided to give the audience a glimpse of it. On September 26, the makers of the film and Akshay Kumar not only confirmed the release date of the film but also released a one-minute-long teaser featuring the fantasy World of Ram Setu.

As for the story, it revolves around an atheist archaeologist turned believer, Aryan Kulshrestha (Akshay Kumar), who must race against time to prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of India’s heritage. The film also stars Satyadev Kancharana, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and M. Nasser in primary roles. Promising to be a fast-paced, action-adventure entertainer for the entire family and a massive visual scale, Ram Setu is written and directed by Abhishek Sharma who is known for films Parmanu, Tere Bin Laden. Presented by Prime Video, Ram Setu marks Prime Video’s entry into movie co-productions, making it India’s first film to be co-produced by the streaming platform. It is produced by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment), Subaskaran, Mahaveer Jain, and Aashish Singh (Lyca Productions) and Prime Video with Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi as the Creative Producer. Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri gives tribute to Dev Anand on his birthday; pens a heartfelt note

September 26 marks the 100th birth anniversary of the late actor Dev Anand, an evergreen star with his distinctive style and adorable looks. With his movies and acting prowess, Dev Anand won the hearts of millions. And, as Monday marks his birth anniversary, Bollywood director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote a note while remembering an incident.

The 48-year-old director wrote “Sorry, I made you wait” said Dev Anand, after making me wait for 5 mnts. / “It’s ok” I said. / “No, it’s not. Never say OK when it’s not. You know Time is half of a film’s budget. Money is only second half” said Devsaab./ My tribute to Devsaab on his b’day.”

In his tweet, the director shared the link to a blog he has written for Dev Anand. In the blog, he has extensively discussed Dev Anand, his projects, and his obsession with stories while talking about the incident in detail. An excerpt of his blog read, “He had his priorities very clear – Stories, love and beauty, exactly in this order. His stories are all set in his time. Always, in the present. Like his own life.”

Recently, Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files was officially selected for ‘Seattle Film Festival 2022’. The film starring Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, and Mithun Chakraborty has successfully garnered praise and appreciation from the global audience. While this year has been the result of all the hard work Vivek Agnihotri has poured into this project, the Indian filmmaker has enjoyed the success of The Kashmir Files which grabbed the attention of the entire nation and kick-started the box office for the year 2022.

After wanting to ‘sue’ ‘Maine Payal Hai’ remake by Neha Kakkar, Falguni Pathak plays Garba with her for a special Indian Idol episode; watch

Falguni Pathak and Neha Kakkar were trending on the internet over the remake of ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’ While Falguni expressed her disappointment saying she would take legal action for the rights of the song was with her, Neha defended herself with a cryptic note on Instagram addressing her ‘haterz’ trolling her for ‘O sajna’. However, it seems Kakkar and Pathak seem to have put all of this back rather quickly as recently, Falguni Pathak met Neha Kakkar on the sets of the latter’s singing reality show Indian Idol, and played Garba with her.

In the video, Neha can be seen talking about a special theatre round while mentioning that the same day marks the start of Navratri. Later, she introduces ‘legendary’ Falguni ma’am. As the video progresses, we can see the Dandiya Queen singing one of her special Garba ‘Mane Mavtar Made To’ while Neha along with Himesh Reshammiya, Aditya Narayan, and other fellow contestants can be seen enjoying garba and dandiya.

For the unversed, a week ago, Kakkar dropped her latest track, ‘O Sajna’, which is a remade version of Falguni Pathak’s song that released back in the ‘90s. Including netizens, Pathak also critiqued the song. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Pathak said, “I wish I could (take legal steps) but the rights are not with me”, when asked if she is planning on taking the legal route. Meanwhile, in another interaction with Delhi Times, Pathak was quoted saying, “I got to know about the remixed version three-four days back. First reaction was not good. I was like, mujhe bas ulti aani baaki thi, aisa ho gaya tha. (I was about to puke, it was like that)”.

On the other hand, in a cryptic post, Neha addressed her haters and wrote, “Very few people in the world get what I have received in life. That too in such a young age. This kind of fame, love, countless super hit songs, super duper hit tv shows, world tours, fans from little kids to 80-90 years old people and what not! You know why I Got all this because of my talent, hard work , passion and positivity.”
