Blake Lively Replaces Amber Heard As Mera For ‘Aquaman 2’ In Fan Art
Amber Heard stunned critics and comic book fans when she appeared as Mera, Arthur Curry’s love interest and confidant in 2018’s Aquaman. With the film a runaway critical and commercial success, it was no surprise when a sequel was announced with Jason Momoa returning to to the titular role. Currently set to hit cinemas in the winter of 2022, Heard or Warner Bros. haven’t officially announced that the starlet will be returning as Mera. While she is expected to reprise her role, it’s always fun to imagine who could replace her should the actress be done with the DC Extended Universe. Lucky for us, artist spdrmnkyxxiii has the perfect replacement for Heard in mind: Blake Lively.
Best known for starring in Gossip Girl, Blake Lively is the perfect choice to replace Amber Heard as Mera for the upcoming Aquaman sequel. You can check out what Lively would look like as Mera below.

In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if she was originally in the running for the Aquaman character before Amber Heard stepped on board. Currently, there’s no news to indicate that Lively will be taking on the role of Mera but should Warner Bros. need a replacement, they know who to call.
