Dhanush summoned by Madras High Court in paternity case

According to the latest reports, actor Dhanush who has been making a mark not just in Indian cinema but also internationally was summoned by the Madras High Court over a complicated case. Reports alleged that a couple named Kathiresan and his wife Meenakshi have claimed that the South superstar is their son. From what the media reported, the court case has been on for a while and the judgment is yet to be passed.

Reports suggest that in 2020 the Madurai court had already dismissed the case when Kathiresan claimed that Dhanush had forged the paternity documents. The court had then reportedly passed this order after claiming that there was nothing to support his statement. And now, Kathiresan is once again expected to have moved the Madras High Court requesting them to quash this order and is even reported to have sought a police inquiry in the matter. Owing to the new developments, reports have it that the actor was summoned to the Madras High Court.

Further reports also state that Madras High Court issued a notice against Dhanush in relation with the case after Kathiresan’s plea was earlier rejected by the Madurai High Court bench.

The couple, Kathiresan and Meenakshi had alleged that Dhanush is their third son who left his hometown to pursue his passion for films in Chennai. The court case started when the couple reportedly sought a sum of Rs. 65,000 as compensation from Dhanush under the claim that they are his parents. However, reports claim that the actor has denied all the allegations.

On the personal front, Dhanush is the former son-in-law of South superstar Rajinikanth, as the actor was married to the latter’s elder daughter Aishwarya. Dhanush also has two sons, namely, Yatra and Linga. The couple, however, got separated in January 2022 after being married for about 17 years.
