Aryan Khan moves the court to release his passport

Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on the charges of being involved in a drug case. However, the star kid was given a clean chit by the court recently in the case and now owing to the same, Aryan moved the court on Thursday, requesting them to return his passport.

Aryan Khan was accused of being involved in a drug case after the NCB department conducted a raid on a Goa cruise which included some high profile names on the guest list. He was arrested and imprisoned due to the same, along with which his passport was seized due to the bail conditions. He was granted bail post 20 days of his imprisonment. However, in a charge sheet filed in May, the name of the star kid was not included. And later, Aaryan and five other accused were given a clean chit by the NCB due to insufficient evidence.

Owing to the same, Aryan Khan filed an application on Thursday with the help of his lawyers from the Desai Desai Carrimjee and Mulla firm, asking the court to return his passport, as per PTI reports. And in response to the same, the court has ordered NCB to file a reply before the next hearing which is expected to be held on July 13.

Kamal Haasan receives Golden Visa offered by the UAE

Not too long ago, we reported that Kamal Haasan took off to the UAE to promote his release Vikram. While the film went on to garner immense positive response from the audience, the Tamil superstar also received yet another honor. He has been offered the renowned golden visa by the UAE government and the Ulaganayakan is humbled to accept the same.

Confirming the same, a source close to the actor said, “Ulaganayakan Kamal Hassan received the prestigious golden visa for 10 years by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri – Director General, GDRFA Dubai.” The actor, who was in the UAE, also met his Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai along with his Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the cabinet member of the Minister of Tolerance and co-existence of the United Arab Emirates at the palace. Needless to say, the actor was thrilled and humbled at the honour.

Besides him, there are many other stars from the Indian industry who have received this honour which includes Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty among others. Many actors from the South industry too have received this, namely, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Trisha, Tovino Thomas, Prithviraj Sukumaran among others.

Speaking about the UAE golden visa, it is basically the concept of offering foreigners a long term residency in UAE in a bid to attract more foreign investments. It is generally given to a distinguished group of achievers which includes personalities from different walks of life including business and science. The UAE government has asserted that the introduction of this visa was to help make these foreign residents more secure about their future in the country.

Coming to Kamal Haasan’s last hit Vikram, the film is a dark action thriller also starring Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film released worldwide on June 3.

Ek Villain Returns Trailer Launch: Here’s how John Abraham responded when his chemistry with Disha Patani was compared to his and Bipasha Basu

The trailer of Ek Villain Returns was launched with much fanfare today amidst the entire cast ensemble which included John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria. As for the film, this glimpse into the world of villains showcased layered characters and power-packed action. Amidst that, it also gave us a sneak-peek into the chemistry of John – Disha and Arjun – Tara. During the trailer launch, one of the questions posed to John Abraham was the comparison between his chemistry with ex-girlfriend Bipasha Basu versus his chemistry with Disha Patani.

A press conference was held after the trailer of Ek Villain Returns was unveiled, in which, John Abraham was asked about his chemistry with Disha Patani. When it was compared to his chemistry with Bipasha Basu with reference to their films like Jism, he said, “I think there are certain actors, with whom I have worked with in the past, my chemistry with them was lovely. I think with Disha it was absolutely fantastic. And you will see it in the film.” He went on to add, “Kyunki bahut kam logon ke saath aisa hota hai ki (There are very few people with whom) when you see them onscreen, you look at them and you say, ‘it’s really working. With Disha, we felt that. It was really nice and special.”

Ek Villain Returns will also feature Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria as an onscreen couple for the first time. Directed by Mohit Suri, even though it is a sequel to the Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor starrer, the plotline and characters are different from its prequel. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Bhushan Kumar, the action thriller will hit the big screens on July 29.

Apple TV+ drama See starring Jason Jason Momoa to return for its third and final season on August 26, new teaser unveiled

Apple TV+ on Wednesday unveiled a first look at the third season of the epic, post-apocalyptic global hit series See, which will make its global debut on Friday, August 26, 2022. Starring Jason Momoa, the eight-episode third season will mark the last chapter of the series and will premiere with the first episode, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday.

“We are thrilled to share this epic final chapter of See, which delivers all the intense drama, riveting action, and heartfelt emotion fans have come to expect, as well as what we think is a deeply satisfying conclusion to our story,” said See showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Tropper. “Building a world without sight was a particularly unique and continuous challenge that was met through the passionate and thoughtful collaboration of a phenomenally talented and diverse team both in front of and behind the camera. The show has been monumental labor of love for all involved, and we are eternally grateful for the way ’See’ has been embraced by viewers around the world.”

See is set in a brutal and primitive future, hundreds of years after humankind has lost the ability to see. In season three, almost a year has passed since Baba Voss (Momoa) defeated his nemesis brother Edo and bid farewell to his family to live remotely in the forest. But when a Trivantian scientist develops a new and devastating form of sighted weaponry that threatens the future of humanity, Baba returns to Paya in order to protect his tribe once more.

The series features cast and crew who are blind or have low vision and has been honoured for its representation of the visually impaired, winning the Ruderman Family Foundation Seal of Authentic Representation in 2020. “See” was also recognised this year with an NAACP Image Awards nomination for star Alfre Woodard in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category.

Starring alongside Momoa in the third season of “See” are ensemble cast members Sylvia Hoeks, Hera Hilmar, Christian Camargo, Archie Madekwe, Nesta Cooper, Tom Mison, Olivia Cheng, Eden Epstein, Michael Raymond-James, David Hewlett and Trieste Kelly Dunn.

See is executive produced by Steven Knight, Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Jim Rowe, Jennifer Yale, Anders Engström and Jonathan Tropper, who also serves as showrunner. The series is produced by Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content.

Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has filed an FIR after she received a death threat at her Mumbai residence. The letter was sent to her house in Versova. After her complaint, Mumbai Police have begun the probe.

The letter was written in Hindi which says that the youth of India won’t tolerate insults against Veer Savarkar. She posted a photo of the letter on her Instagram and wrote in Hindi, “देश के नौजवान तो ख़ैर सड़कों पर नौकरी की माँग कर रहे हैं.. पर एक प्रजाति महंगाई, बेरोज़गारी, भुखमरी सब सहेगी.. बस ऐतिहासिक सच और तथ्य नहीं सहेगी! इतना रोश – पर नम्बर रेवारी में बैठे किसी चाचा का डाला है भाई ने!”

Ranveer Singh heads out of India for his birthday; will meet Deepika Padukone in US

Ranveer Singh is set to celebrate his birthday in the US. A few days ago, he posted an image cheekily captioning it saying, “Waiting for my wife to comment.” To this, Deepika replied saying, “Come to me soonest!“ and it seems like Ranveer has taken a flight to head out of India to meet his beloved!

Oscars 2023: Suriya, Kajol, Reema Kagti, Billie Eilish, Anya Taylor-Joy among 397 members invited by The Academy

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to 397 distinguished artists and executives to join the organization in 2022. Membership selection is based on professional qualifications, with an ongoing commitment to representation, inclusion, and equity. This year’s class of invitees includes 71 Oscar nominees, including 15 winners.

From India, Suriya and Kajol are among the 397 people that have been invited to become members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Director-writer Reema Kagti, producer Aditya Sood and documentary filmmakers Sushmit Ghosh and Rintu Thomas are also included in the list. International stars including Anya Taylor-Joy, Billie Eilish, Jamie Dornan, Dana Walden, and Leonard Maltin have been invited as well among others. According to Variety, “The 2022 class is 44% women, 37% belong to underrepresented ethnic/racial communities, and 50% are from 53 countries and territories outside the United States.”

A selection of this year’s invitees includes Michael Greyeyes (Wild Indian) to the Actors branch, Elodie Demey (Summer of 85) to Casting Directors, Martin Ruhe (The Tender Bar) to Cinematographers, Paul Tazewell (West Side Story) to Costume Designers, Andrew Ahn (Fire Island) to Directors, and Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh (Writing With Fire) to Documentary.

Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Rashtra Kavach Om director, Kapil Verma claims he is nervous; says, “There is stress with recent films not doing well”

Rashtra Kavach Om which opens this Friday and which was earlier titled Om The Battle Within has its director Kapil Verma somewhat tense and worried. “Yes, there is definitely a bit of nervousness and stress regarding recent films not doing well at the box office for the last few months. But our USP is that we have made a good film, or so we believe, and that is about the best we can do,” says Verma.

Verma is confident in the action sequences. “If I may say so myself Aditya Roy Kapur has done some great action, he is seen in a totally unexpected avatar. Then there is a Sanjana Sanghi in the film. She was earlier seen in an emotional role in Dil Bechara. She plays a RAW agent in my film. She too has done a lot of action scenes. The pair is fresh and Aditya and Sanjana are seen doing things, they have never done previously. But what I am most confident about is the story. It is a strong subject and one that I feel will draw in the audience,” says Verma.

Action films like Pushpa, KGF, and RRR have done well and these successes boost Kapil’s energy. “Yes, different kinds of action films have been released. Not all of them have worked at the box office. It all depends on what kind of action is being projected on screen. In our film, we don’t have Aditya Roy Kapur just hitting and killing people. Every action sequence is supported by the plot and backed by emotions. The action is therefore not gratuitous. The audience will feel Aditya Roy Kapur’s pain and the action scenes are organic to the plot. They take the story forward and are not there just for the heck of it.”

About Rashtra Kavach Om releasing alongside Madhavan’s Rocketry Kapil says, “I love the trailer of Rocketry. But it is an entirely different genre and a completely different experience. It is a film by and starring Madhavan who is a great artist. But like I said ours is a completely different film. Our film is a hard-core massy film. But we never know what the audience will like or won’t like, especially nowadays.”

Kapil is all praise for his producer Ahmed Khan. “Ahmed Sir is a terrific producer, and I can’t thank him enough for giving me this huge opportunity to direct my own film. He told me, ‘Jao apni film banao and don’t take any stress.’ He has stood by me as a pillar of strength and I hope to collaborate with him again.”

Drishyam actress Meena’s husband passes away

Actress Meena’s husband and businessman Vidyasagar passed away after being admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. He was reportedly taking treatment for a lung infection for the past few months. He is survived by his wife and actress Meena and their little daughter Nainika.

Meena, who is known for her doing films with big names in the South industry, was seen in Drishyam 1 and 2 alongside Mohanlal. The actress also has several well wishers from the industry, out of which some of them took to social media to extend their condolences to her and the family.  Sarath kumar, who has acted with Meena in many films expressed his grief over the demise saying, “It is shocking to hear the news of the untimely demise of Actor Meena’s husband Vidyasagar, our family’s heartfelt condolences to Meena and the near and dear of her family, may his soul rest in peace.’

In her recent tweet, the actress also requested the media to be more responsible and not to cause panic. She added, “I very humbly request the media to be little responsible. Aamir Khan dances on ‘Phir Na Aisi Raat Aayegi’ with Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh; she says, “This is such a dream come true”

Aamir Khan recently launched the song ‘Phir Na Aisi Raat Aayegi’ from the film Laal Singh Chaddha. Composed by ace singer Pritam and sung by Arijit Singh, the song is picturised on Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actor recently gave an opportunity to a few influencers to listen to the song. One of them was a Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh who not only got to listen to the song first but also shared a dance with him.

Akshara took to Instagram to post videos of her dancing with Aamir. She wrote, “This is such a dream come true! Thank you Aamir Sir for making this day one I can never forget!!”

Jacqueline Fernandez grilled for 8 hours by ED in conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar case

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez appeared before Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday after fresh summons were initiated against her. The actress was reportedly grilled for 8 hours by ED in the conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar case. Jacqueline Fernandez flew to the capital to record her statement after the ED issued summons for a new round of questioning.

The actress was accused of having a connection with the infamous conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and it was alleged that about Rs. 7.27 crores of funds were seized from the actress in the name of proceeds of crime. The actress has been previously questioned thrice in the same case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

According to a report in News 18 earlier, a fixed deposit worth Rs. 7.12 crore has been attached to Jacqueline Fernandez’ name. Infact, the ED estimated that Sukesh gifted gifts “worth Rs 5.71 crore to Jacqueline using the extortion money. It is also said that Sukesh gave funds close to $173,000 and around 27,000 Australian dollars to a few close members of Jacqueline’s family.”

In Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s statement recorded under Section 50 of the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act), Sukesh had said that he gave as many as 15 pairs of earrings, five Birkin bags, and other luxury goods from Chanel, Gucci to the actor. The conman also claimed that he gifted Jacqueline Fernandez Cartier bangles and rings and a bracelet by Tiffany & Co. in addition to Rolex watches. He also gave Jacqueline Fernandez jewellery worth Rs 7 crore and gifted her a horse called ‘Espuelah’.

In addition, Sukesh Chandrashekhar also extended a loan of USD 150,000 to Jacqueline Fernandez’s sister, who lives in the US. He also gave her a BMW X5 car and gifted Jacqueline Fernandez’s parents a Maserati and her mother in Bahrain a Porsche. He also extended a loan of USD 50,000 to her brother in Australia.

In its charge sheet, the Delhi Police has accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar and 13 others of duping the wife of the former promoter of Ranbaxy to the tune of Rs 200 crore. Officials believe Chandrasekhar extorted Rs. 200 crore from the complainant by claiming that he would facilitate her husband’s release from prison.
