“My pre-natal journey was quite different. I was very sure I wanted to have as natural a journey as I could that would lead to a natural delivery with as little intervention as possible. For that I decided to take help of ‘gentle birth method’ with Dr Gowra Motha. She had written a lovely book called Gentle Birth Method that explains how to deal with the prenatal journey,” wrote the Aisha actress in one of her Instagram stories.

Coming to stretch marks, the Neerja actress shared the details of the products she has been using, and added, “Besides the linea nigra, I don’t have any stretch marks at all. I’ve used a combination of these two products (which she shared a picture of) three times a day on my whole trunk area up to my thighs. I also drank collagen, had vitamin C and a lot of protein.”

In the same series, the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actress also spoke about her diet during pregnancy. The food items that should be included in “Prenatal foods to add” are as followed (according to Sonam Kapoor’s Instagram story):

Vegetables: carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, spinach, cooked greens, tomatoes and red sweet peppers (for vitamin A and potassium)

Fruits: cantaloupe, honeydew, mangoes, prunes, bananas, apricots, oranges, and red or pink grapefruit (for potassium)

Dairy: fat-free or low-fat yoghourt, oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk (I was dairy free, as I’m lactose intolerant) buttermilk, paneer (cottage cheese)

Grains: ready-to-eat cereals/cooked cereals (for iron and folic acid) and I’m glutten free as well. I found out that was easier on my gut

Proteins: beans dals and peas; nuts and seeds; chicken lamb salmon, trout, herring, sardines and pollock etc

Liquids are the most important! Water water water.

After dating for a few years, Sonam and Anand got married in Mumbai in May 2018. Announcing her pregnancy, Sonam had written, “Four hands. To raise you the very best we can. Two hearts. That will beat in unison with yours, every step of the way. One family. Who will shower you with love and support. We can’t wait to welcome you,” in the caption of her social media post.
