Critics Choice Awards 2023: ‘Naatu Naatu’ wins Best Song, SS Rajamouli accepts Best Film In Foreign Language Award for RRR

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s RRR is staying in the headlines and for all the right reasons. Following the Golden Globes 2023 win, RRR has bagged the Best Film in Foreign Language Award at the Critics Choice Awards 2023.

Director S. S. Rajamouli accepted the award and thanked “the women in my life” including his mother. “She thought school education was overrated and she encouraged me to read comics and storybooks, and she encouraged my creativity,” said Rajamouli. He thanked his wife, costume designer Rama Rajamouli. He said, “More than that, she’s the designer of my life.”

‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Best Song. M.M. Keeravani accepted the award and said, “Thank you so much I am very overwhelmed with this award. I am here to receive this wonderful award by the critics. Thank you all the critics, on behalf of my chorographer, lyrics writer, my singers, my programmers and ofcourse my director.”

“Cheers on a well-deserved win @RRRMovie,” the caption read on the official handle of Critics Choice Awards. In the video, Rajamouli wore a brown kurta paired with a khaki pants along with a red and grey muffler.

Meanwhile, it already has Oscars 2023 buzz as the film was submitted for 15 categories. RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ has been shortlisted for Best Original Song for Academy Awards 2023. The team of RRR is in Los Angeles for the Oscars campaign. They recently hosted a special screening for the members of the Academy.
