Rekha calls Alia Bhatt ‘beginning of the future legends’, dedicates her award to Gangubai Kathiawadi star, watch video
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt had a stupendous 2022 with three releases – Gangubai Kathiawadi, Darlings and Brahmastra. This year, the actress is receiving several awards for her performances in her last year’s projects. At the recent Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards, Alia Bhatt received the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi. At the same event, Rekha was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution To The Film Industry award. The veteran actress dedicated her award to Alia and said that she is the ‘beginning of the future legends’.
In a video clip shared on Sony’s official social media account, Rekha said, “I dedicate my award today to the future legends of our country and she is the beginning of them.” Alia was surprised to receive the compliment.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt, who welcomed daughter Raha with husband Ranbir Kapoor in November 2022, will be next starring in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. She will soon make her Hollywood debut with Netflix film Heart of Stone, which also stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
