During a special address at the White House State Dinner on Thursday, PM Modi highlighted the song’s phenomenal success while speaking on the strengthening bond between Indians and Americans.

PM Modi expressed his delight at the growing understanding and camaraderie between the two nations, stating, “With every passing day, Indians and Americans are getting to know each other better. We can pronounce each other’s names correctly, we can understand each other’s accents better… Children in India become Spider-Man on Halloween, and America’s youth is dancing to the tunes of ‘Naatu Naatu’.”

The State Dinner, hosted by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, was a grand affair that witnessed the presence of illustrious figures from the tech world, film and fashion industry, and billionaire industrialists. Over 400 distinguished guests were invited to the specially decorated pavilion on the South Lawn of the White House, where the gala event took place.

The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests from various domains, including prominent Indian billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Anand Mahindra, along with influential figures from the corporate world. Among the esteemed attendees were Apple CEO Tim Cook and renowned corporate leader Indira Nooyi. The event also welcomed the CEOs of tech giants Google, Microsoft, and Adobe—Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, and Shantanu Narayen, respectively.
