Alia Bhatt reveals why she didn’t promote her Hollywood debut movie: “We stand behind the SAG-AFTRA strike”

Alia Bhatt, who is basking in the success of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, made her Hollywood debut last week. She essayed the role of antagonist Keya Dhawan in the action film starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. However, the actress did not get to promote the movie extensively and it has to do with the ongoing strikes in Hollywood.

In a recent Instagram Q&A, the actress said that due to the actors’ strike in the US, where they standing up and fighting for fair residuals, the team was standing in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA. Alia said, “As a team, we stand behind the SAG-AFTRA strike, and as a mark of solidarity, we haven’t been promoting the movie.”

“However I’ve been seeing all your messages and the outpouring of love!! Thankful for you all and sending all the love right back to you,” she wrote.

The film’s cast had recorded a series of interviews prior to the strike. The film released on August 11.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has signed YRF’s female-driven spy movie. She also has another Dharma Productions’ in the works with Vasan Bala. The actress is reportedly in talks to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash.
