Ranbir Kapoor impresses with a headstand during a gym training session; fans wonder if he is prepping for Ramayan

Ever since the grand success of Animal, fans cannot wait to see Ranbir Kapoor back on the big screen. And after playing an obsessive, abusive, impulsive, and violent man in Animal, the actor is expected to play the Lord Ram himself, if the buzz is to be believed. He has reportedly been signed for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan, an official announcement of which is still awaited. So when the Kapoor boy was seen hitting the gym and doing some extensive workout sessions, fans couldn’t help but wonder if he has already started prepping for this magnum opus.

Several rumours about the casting of Ramayan has been doing the rounds ever since last year wherein many actors’ names have been associated with the project while it is being said that Nitesh Tiwari is expected to make an announcement soon. In a recent photo which was shared the actor’s fitness coach, Ranbir Kapoor is seen trying out a headstand. He captioned the inage saying, “#ranbirkapoor First Headstand ?? #headstand #ramayan #newskill #trainingwithnam #???? #prep”.

Speaking of the film, several reports have been claiming that Yash will be essaying the role of Raavan, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, whereas other names and characters which have been doing the rounds include Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanaka, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Amitabh Bachchan as Dashrath Maharaja, among others. Names of Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi were also associated with the film wherein it was being said that they were being approached for the role of Kumbhakaran and Vibhishan.

Not too long ago, some reports claimed that Nitesh Tiwari is keen on making the official announcement of the film on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. In another news, it was being said that the film will not be kick starting any time soon. In an exclusive Bollywood Hungama report, a source was quoted saying, “The project is on. But not this year. There are too many internal issues to be resolved.”
