Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot in a simple registered wedding ceremony on June 23, which is also a special date for the couple who completed seven years of relationship this year. After a low-key Mehendi ceremony, Sonakshi and Zaheer hosted a lavish reception party in Mumbai to celebrate their special day and needless to say, it was a star-studded evening with superstars like Salman Khan to young stars like Aditya Roy Kapur attending the bash.

The couple had a informal reception at one of the Bastian chain of restaurants (co-owned by Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra) in the city. While the guests mingled happily as they met Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal to share their best wishes, the newlyweds, who were thrilled at the moment, danced their heart out on the live-Dhol music at the venue and also on several other songs like their track ‘Blockbuster’, a beautiful couple dance on the Rahat Fateh Ali Khan song ‘Afreen Afreen’ , among others.


The couple greet Anil Kapoor in style

In a clip that has found its way on social media, Anil Kapoor is seen warmly greeting the newlyweds as Sonakshi and Zaheer also recreate his iconic ‘Lakhan’ step as a tribute to the evergreen superstar. The actor, who is currently hosting Bigg Boss OTT 3, arrived at the event with his wife Sunita Kapoor.

Kajol was her usual bubbly self as she came to give her blessings to the couple and even danced a few steps with the thrilled Sonakshi and Zaheer. She also clicked a selfie with the duo to mark this special moment in their lives.

Sonakshi and Zaheer revealed that they have been in relationship for seven years, that is since 2017. While Zaheer is an actor, he featured alongside Sonakshi in the film Double XL that also stars Sonakshi’s best friend Huma Qureshi and Mahat Raghavendra. Apart from that, the couple also featured in a music video of the song ‘Blockbuster’.
