Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla unveil the making of Radhika Merchant’s mesmerizing ‘Panetar’ lehenga

Radhika Merchant looked straight out of a storybook in a crimson and white lehenga made by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her July 12 wedding to Anant Ambani. Her wedding attire is a typical version of ‘Panetar’, a Gujarati ritual in which brides wear red and white.

Radhika looked ethereal in her ivory attire with gorgeous zardozi cutwork. The costume included a trailing ghagra layered with a second detachable trail, a 5-meter head veil, and a tissue dupatta.

In a recent social media post, the renowned fashion designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla shared a mesmerizing video showcasing the intricate creation of Radhika Merchant’s bridal lehenga.

In the video, viewers can witness the painstaking process that went into crafting the lehenga. Every detail, from the delicate embroidery to the selection of luxurious fabrics, highlights the dedication to perfection and their commitment to honoring cultural heritage through contemporary design.

This opulent yet traditional ensemble created 25 of the most gifted karigars at Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The ghagra, with three red borders, was embellished with the best naqshi, saadi, and zardozi craftsmanship. The hand-embroidered delicate flower boots on the costume were embellished with stones, sequins, tamba tikkis, and a hint of red resham, as stated by the creators in their post.

Radhika’s veil was composed of delicate jaali and cutwork, whereas the path had significant zardozi work.

Posting the video he captioned, “An intricate interpretation of ‘Panetar’ by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, which refers to the Gujarati tradition of brides wearing red and white for their big day. A glimpse into the making of Radhika Merchant’s glorious bridal lehenga.”

Radhika finished her wedding look with royal diamonds and simple makeup.
