Watch: Train To Busan Trailer Teases New Extended Version

Train to Busan was the best and most successful South Korean zombie movie, not to mention one of the greatest zombie films ever made, so a sequel was always going to happen. Now, as Train to Busan: Peninsula approaches its release, a new trailer for it predecessor has dropped online that offers up a little surprise.

Perfectly capturing the fear, confusion and unforgiving intensity of a post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by roving bands of bloodthirsty zombies that made the movie such a smash hit, this preview reveals that we’ll be getting a new extended version of Train to Busan, ahead of its sequel hitting theaters. It’ll include extra footage and Well Go USA will be releasing it this summer, on July 1st.

What exactly this new footage will include, we don’t yet know, but it’ll apparently “offer clues and secrets that tie directly into Peninsula,” and how exciting is that?

As for the aforementioned follow-up, we know that Peninsula won’t be a direct sequel to the first outing. The setting is the same, though, and will likely continue the themes of stratified society that we saw so prevalently in Train to Busan. It’s kind of like George Romero’s Dead movies in that none of them had the same characters, but they all took place in the same increasingly ravaged world.

Unfortunately, there’s no word as of yet on when we may see Train to Busan: Peninsula stateside, but it’s pencilled in for a summer release overseas and if theaters open up here in the near future, it’ll probably make its way to North America shortly after. Watch this space for more and feel free to drop a comment down below letting us know what you’re hoping to see from the extended version of the original.

Blake Lively Replaces Amber Heard As Mera For ‘Aquaman 2’ In Fan Art

Amber Heard Mera Aquaman 2 Blake Lively

Amber Heard Mera Aquaman 2 Blake LivelyA brand new concept design imagines Blake Lively taking over the role of Mera from Amber Heard for the upcoming Aquaman sequel.

Amber Heard stunned critics and comic book fans when she appeared as Mera, Arthur Curry’s love interest and confidant in 2018’s Aquaman. With the film a runaway critical and commercial success, it was no surprise when a sequel was announced with Jason Momoa returning to to the titular role. Currently set to hit cinemas in the winter of 2022, Heard or Warner Bros. haven’t officially announced that the starlet will be returning as Mera. While she is expected to reprise her role, it’s always fun to imagine who could replace her should the actress be done with the DC Extended Universe. Lucky for us, artist spdrmnkyxxiii has the perfect replacement for Heard in mind: Blake Lively.

Best known for starring in Gossip Girl, Blake Lively is the perfect choice to replace Amber Heard as Mera for the upcoming Aquaman sequel. You can check out what Lively would look like as Mera below.

The art does a fantastic job of showing just how easily Blake Lively could slip into the role of Mera. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if she was originally in the running for the Aquaman character before Amber Heard stepped on board. Currently, there’s no news to indicate that Lively will be taking on the role of Mera but should Warner Bros. need a replacement, they know who to call.

Do you think Blake Lively should play Mera? Or do you think Amber Heard is best suited for the role? Comment below and let us know!

Amber Heard’s Mera was last seen in 2018’s Aquaman. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan,Aquamanstars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

The Real Space Force Might Lose Its Trademark to Netflix’s ‘Space Force’

space force trademark

The general consensus surrounding Netflix’s new comedy seriesSpace Force is that it’s just not very good. Audiences and critics alike seem disappointed at Steve Carell’s return to TV comedy, but whatever the show lacks in quality it might make up for in…litigation. Because it looks like the real Space Force might lose its trademark to the fictional one.

The real Space Force was first announced inMarch 2018, and quickly became a punchline. Netflix seized on this, promptly getting to work on aSpace Force TV series meant to send-up the real deal. And while the actual Space Force may have come first, THR says: “the streaming giant has outmaneuvered the U.S. government to secure trademark rights to Space Force in Europe, Australia, Mexico and elsewhere,†while the Air Force “merely owns a pending application for registration inside the United States based on an intent to use. Meaning that the feds have gotten a place in line but no confirmed trademark rights thus far.â€ÂÂ

In Netflix’s Space Force, “A decorated pilot with dreams of running the Air Force, four-star general Mark R. Naird (Steve Carell) is thrown for a loop when he finds himself tapped to lead the newly formed sixth branch of the US Armed Forces: Space Force. Skeptical but dedicated, Mark uproots his family and moves to a remote base in Colorado where he and a colorful team of scientists and Spacemen are tasked by the White House with getting American boots on the moon (again) in a hurry and achieving total space dominance.â€ÂÂ

Meanwhile, the actual Space Force describes itself as “a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing military space professionals, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands.â€ÂÂ

Of course, very few people are going to confuse a poorly received TV comedy with a real branch of the military, but still, it’s amusing to note that Netflix beat the real thing to the punch. Plus, there’s no telling what the Department of Defense might do. As THR adds:

But aggression on the trademark front hasn’t been a hallmark of the Department of Defense under President Trump — and the best place to find proof of that may be with respect to Netflix’s “Space Force†trademark registrations. Although the United States operates on what’s called a “first-to-use†trademark registration system, where priority is based on actual use in commerce rather than who gets to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office first, many other countries operate on a “first-to-file†basis. Records show that Netflix was submitting applications for “Space Force†around the world as early as January 2019. In other words, the Department of Defense was caught sleeping.

The First Amendment should, in theory, protect Netflix from any legal action. But that’s not to say the DOD still won’t try. After the last three-plus years of the Trump administration, nothing is really surprising anymore.

California Movie Theatres Could Be Opening Up Sooner Than We Thought

Movie Theaters Coronavirus Georgia California

Movie Theaters Coronavirus Georgia CaliforniaCalifornia movie theatres could could be given the go ahead to reopen their doors on June 12.

It was reported late last week that California Gov. Gavin Newsom would be allowing the state to resume production on movies, music, and television on June 12 per health guidelines. With the weather getting better and studios sitting on a large number of tentpole films like Tenet, everyone from studios to theatre owners are anxiously waiting to get back to normal. Deadline comes with some hopeful news as the outlet is reporting that movie theatres in California will get the green light to open up their doors on the very same day productions can resume: June 12.

Theatres all over the globe shuttered their doors for months to help flatten the curve and promote social distancing. With the virus slowing its spread and numerous facets of the entertainment industry opening back up around the world, this news comes at a great for audience members, as well as studios. Audiences have been itching to get back to cinemas, especially those who reside in the movie capital of the world: Los Angeles.

If all goes well, it looks like Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Tenet will be the first major blockbuster to grace the silver screen in a post-COVID-19 world. Nolan and Warner Bros. refused to budge on the film’s mid July date, which now looks like a smart move. A report from last week expected that 90% of theatres would be up and running in time for the upcoming spy thriller. If California cinemas do open up in the coming weeks, it looks like the report will be revered as the prophecy that saved the movie industry.

What are your thoughts on California movie theatres opening up? Do you think it’s too soon? Will you be returning to cinemas in time for Tenet? Comment below and let us know! Stay tuned for all the latest news on the film and be sure tosubscribeto Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more great video content!

California Governor Says TV & Film Production Can Restart June 12

California Governor Says TV & Film Production Can Restart June 12 California Governor Says TV & Film Production Can Restart June 12

It looks liked the coronavirus pandemic is finally slowing down, which means the world can resume its previously scheduled programming in a short while. Actually, much sooner than that. According to The Hollywood Reporter, California Governor Gavin Newsom revealed that all film and TV production can recommence on June 12.

“Music, TV and film production may resume in California, recommended no sooner than June 12, 2020, and subject to approval by county public health officers within the jurisdictions of operations following their review of local epidemiological data including cases per 100,000 population, rate of test positivity, and local preparedness to support a health care surge, vulnerable populations, contact tracing and testing,†the California Department of Public Health said in a statement via the Governor’s Office on Friday. “To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, productions, cast, crew and other industry workers should abide by safety protocols agreed by labor and management, which may be further enhanced by county public health officers. Back office staff and management should adhere to Office Workspace guidelines published by the California Department of Public Health and the California Department of Industrial Relations, to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.â€

Per the article, the Industry-Wide Labor-management Safety Committee Task Force, which includes the likes of AMPTP, SAG-AFTRA, the Directors Guild, IATSE and the Teamsters, submitted a 22-page document to state governments across the country with recommended protocols for “how to restart production while minimizing the risk of spreading COVID-19.â€

These protocols weren’t made known in the report, though an example from Tyler Perry’s Atlanta studios was mentioned — the cast of Perry’s TV shows Sistas and The Oval would be tested for the virus with nasal swabs before arriving on set, self-isolate for 16 days, travel on private jets and undergo more testing when they arrive in Atlanta.
