The prequel to the Lord of the Rings, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, an epic drama series set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 2, 2022, has fans excitedly looking forward to yet another journey through the Tolkien universe. While details about the series were kept under tight wraps, the closer we get to the release date confirmed by Amazon, the more information about the series has been made public. The Rings of Power, headed by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and set thousands of years before the events of Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, is expected to unite all major Middle-earth Second Age stories, including the forging of the rings, the tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.



House of the Dragon Wraps Filming, George R. R. Martin Praises the Game of Thrones Spinoff

Author George R. R. Martin has some high praise for the first season of the Game of Thrones spinoff series. Dubbed House of the Dragon, the new show is set hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones, following an all-new cast of characters while fleshing out more of the universe first established by its parent series. While HBO hasn't yet set an official release date for the series, Martin has revealed in his blog that the first season has wrapped filming.



Former 9-1-1 Star Rockmond Dunbar Sues Disney and Fox Over Vaccine Mandate

Rockmond Dunbar alleges he was discriminated against by his former employers last year due to disagreements over vaccine mandates, and now his complaint will be heard in the courtroom. In November, it was reported that Dunbar was leaving from his role in the hit series 9-1-1 as he did not wish to comply with the COVID-19 vaccine mandates enforced for the cast and crew. The actor has now sued 20th Television and parent company Disney claiming the studio engaged in discrimination and even prohibited Dunbar from getting work elsewhere.
