Disney+ Launch Turned Obi-Wan Kenobi Into a Series Says Lucasfilm President

Following the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, there seemed to be a change at Lucasfilm that saw a number of future projects being put on the backburner or being scrapped entirely. One project that seemed to be in uncertain territory was an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie that would have followed solo and brought Ewan McGregor back to Star Wars as the Jedi master. Now of course we are getting ready to see McGregor and Hayden Christensen in the series Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has revealed how the launch of Disney+ played a big part in the project’s transition from movie to series.

Mike Myers Joins Instagram to Tease His New Series The Pentaverate

Mike Myers joined the world of Instagram last week and it seems his main reason for doing so is to drop a whole bunch of cryptic photos that are all linked to the number 5. Parents TV Council Blasts Disney+ for Adding Mature Content Like Daredevil and The Punisher

The Parents Television and Media Council (PTC) has criticized Disney+ ahead of the debut of Daredevil, The Punisher, and other Netflix-produced Marvel TV shows on the streaming platform on March 16, 2022. All six Defenders universe shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders) are rated TV-MA (Mature Audiences Only) and thus are unsuitable for children. This does not sit well with the PTC, who last week slammed HBO’s Euphoria as well, calling it "grossly irresponsible" for its graphic depiction of nudity, drug use, and child abuse.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Could Get a Second Season, Says Lucasfilm President

Obi-Wan Kenobi sees Ewan McGregor return to the Star Wars franchise after almost two decades as the Jedi master, and while the show is intended to be a limited series that bridges a gap between the prequel movies and the original Star Wars trilogy there is a possibility that there could be a second season. While the new series was originally envisioned as a movie that would have potentially followed Solo: A Star Wars Story, the continuation of Kenobi’s tale stalled when that movie didn’t perform quite as well as expected and fans began to wonder if they would ever see McGregor reprise his role.
