The movie is all set to hit the Rs. 250 crore mark on Wednesday to take the opening weekend total in the range of Rs. 255 crore plus.
After a record breaking weekend of Rs. 190 crore, the film is seeing a day to day drop in the range of 15 to 20 percent. While for any other film, this would have been a reason to worry, but for KGF 2, the job is done in the opening weekend itself. It’s a frontloaded film catering to the men, and that audience will come back to the cinema halls again on the weekend.
The drop on weekdays is not alarming as even after seeing the relatively big drops on the percentage front, the collections are super solid. The movie is expected to chase down Dangal (Rs. 375 crore) and emerge the 2nd highest grossing film of all time in the Hindi belts, only behind Bahubali 2 (Rs. 511 crore). In terms of ROI, KGF Chapter 2 is already a blockbuster within the first 3 days run and it’s now on the journey to just keep its profit rolling by the day.
The movie will face competition from Jersey in the 2nd week, but the Shahid Kapoor film won’t hamper the prospects as the two films cater to different segments of audience. In-fact, there is a high possibility of KGF 2 clocking bigger numbers in its second weekend as compared to Jersey in its first.

The Kashmir Files started it all, RRR (Hindi) followed, and now KGF – Chapter 2 (Hindi) is set to be a hattrick film, and that too is the biggest of them all. While the first in the list has crossed the Rs. 250 crores mark with the latter aiming for Rs. 265-270 crores lifetime, the latest release will cross these numbers in the first week itself. In fact, the manner in which the Yash starrer is currently doing at the box office, its entry into the Rs. 300 Crore Club should happen during the second weekend itself, which would be simply mind-blowing.
On Monday, the film held on amazingly well to collect Rs. 25.57 crores more which has pushed the numbers to Rs. 219.56 crores. What is working in favour of the film is the film that it is turning out to be a universal film. Be it multiplexes or single screens, A or B&C centres, mass or class, gentry or women folk, just about everywhere the film is being loved. This rarely happens and for a hard-core action film, which is also, quite violent, this is just unprecedented.
For all involved with the film, this is in fact going to be a case study in itself as that would decide where would KGF – Chapter 3 end up, which is definitely in the making. Rest assured, it will yet again set the record for the biggest opening ever and the numbers would be insane since we are talking about 2024-25 release, by when the market would anyways have gone to a different level altogether.

Unfortunately, unlike previous Bollywood releases in this market, Drishyam did not take off on a flying note. In fact, the film has been facing an uphill task at the China box office. After a low key opening of USD 30,000, the business of the film saw a slight increase in collections over its opening weekend.
Now on Day 5, Drishyam has managed to draw in a further USD 110,000 [Rs. 0.84 cr.] more. Interestingly, the fifth day collections of the film are similar to what it saw coming in on its second day running at the China box office. Though not a drastic drop in business from its first Sunday to it first Monday, expectations of the film’s overall business at the China box office are not too bright.
As of now, Drishyam continues to run with collections trickling in. Currently, the total business of the film at the China box office is pegged at USD 0.63 million [Rs. 4.81 cr.]. Going forward, trade predictions are not too optimistic especially since the market has been hit by the resurgence of the Covid-19 virus.

The sequel marks the return of Kannada superstar in form of Rocky Bhai with Sanjay Dutt as antagonist Adheera. Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty also play pivotal roles. KGF’s plot revolves around an anti-ascension hero’s journey through the ruthless world of crime and smuggling.
Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the cast of KGF 2 was reacting to the comments on the trailer of the film on YouTube. A fan of Sanjay Dutt wrote, “Aaj main 40 saal ka hu aur aaj tak aisi koi movie nahi rahi jaha Sanju baba dikhe aur mai film dekhna na gaya ho. First Day First show confirmed. (I am 40-years-old and to date, there has not been one film featuring Sanjay Dutt that I haven’t watched in theatres.)”
Reacting to the comment, Sanjay Dutt said, “That’s really sweet. First Day First Show jaana hi chahiye sabko. I think everybody should see it about 4-5 times because ek time mai samajh nahi aayegi (Everyone should go for First Day First Show. I think everybody should see it about 4-5 times because you will not understand the film in the first go.)”
