EXCLUSIVE: Janhvi Kapoor opens up how she shot in a freezer that was below 10 degrees for Mili; says, “My character wasn’t prepared to be in this situation”

Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Good Luck Jerry. She will be seen in a role where she is trying to fight for her life in the survival drama Mili. The film, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Helen, is directed by Matthukutty Xavier, who also directed the original. The actress will be essaying a one-of-a-kind character in the film and in a recent interview exclusive with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi opened up on how they created the environment for the film and what she had to undergo while shooting in minus temperatures for this survival drama.

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi Kapoor discussed her experience of shooting for Mili, her camaraderie with filmmaker Matthukutty Xavier, her prep for the character, and many different aspects of Bollywood. During the same, the actress also revealed the kind of brief she had received from the filmmaker and how the set for the film was created. Talking about the same, Janhvi said, “You don’t prepare for this role because my character wasn’t prepared to be in this situation. So my director’s brief was ‘just be you, just do you’. We are building a freezer that will be at minus 10 degrees at all times. And then I’ll put you in it in a thin pair of pants and a thin sleeveless shirt. Okay, and I’ll get a real rat and I’ll put the rat and it will be like a non-rabid rat, I put it in the freezer with you and just have to shoot.”

Talking about Mili, the film will feature Janhvi Kapoor as a waiter at the food franchise who gets locked in the freezer. Her worried family set out on a mission to find her along with the police but will they be able to save her before it’s too late, is what the film is all about. The Hindi version also features Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles. The film released on November 4.

Priyanka Chopra talks about Jee Le Zaraa going on floors with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif; says, “I wanted to do the film on the terms of women”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is currently in India for brand endorsements. But her arrival had sparked several speculations about the actress kicking off Jee Le Zaraa with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. Recently during one of the interactions, Priyanka was seen discussing about the Farhan Akhtar venture with PTI where she not revealed details about how the film came into being but also spoke about when it is expected to go on floors. Interestingly, earlier during the promotions of PhoneBhoot, Katrina too was quizzed about this female-centric road trip drama.

Katrina Kaif had earlier revealed that Jee Le Zaraa started with a phone call conversation with Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt. Priyanka, too, spoke about how it all started with just a hearty chat with her friends. “I called up Alia and Katrina, this is before Farhan or anybody came (on board). I called the girls first. I was sitting at home and I wanted to do a Hindi movie. But I wanted it to be on the terms of women,” she said.

It is also known that Priyanka Chopra is one of the most popular actresses who has showcased her ability to carry films on her shoulders solely many times. The actress has films like Fashion, Mary Kom, Saat Khoon Maaf, among others where she has been the lead. Talking about how the generation has changed when it comes to viewing female-centric films, Priyanka added, “My generation of actresses really opened the door for the next generation of actresses to be the faces on the posters, to be able to sell movies. So, I really wanted to bring together my friends and say ‘let’s create a movie that will do well at the box office and it will be ours’. So, the stars aligned and we decided to do it. Hopefully, we will start shoot it next year.”

Besides Jee Le Zaraa, Priyanka Chopra also has a few other interesting Hollywood-International projects in the pipeline including the ambitious Amazon Prime show Citadel which is a space sci-fi drama also starring Richard Madden.

EXCLUSIVE: Radhika Apte shares her secret to dealing with people she doesn’t get along with at work, watch

From playing a supporting character in Shahid Kapoor starrer Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi to ruling in the OTT world, actress Radhika Apte has carved a niche for herself. After giving a noteworthy performance a month ago in Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha, the actress is gearing up for her next release, titled Monica O My Darling. Ahead of the release of the film, the actress talked with Bollywood Hungama about the initial days of her career, and how over the years she has learned a trick to deal with people she doesn’t get along well with.

The Lust Stories actress revealed, “some experiences are not very good because you don’t get along with the vision of the filmmakers or you don’t get along with the people. As she continued, Pate explained that “sometimes the conditions of the locations are bad where or sometimes the conditions could be excellent and still an artist doesn’t get along with people sometimes conditions could be horrible, but people are absolutely lovely, and it becomes one of the best experiences of your career.”

Elaborating, the Sacred Games actress mentioned, “I read a lot on the set right and I try to tell them what I feel and find a middle way. But, at the end of the day, it’s that person’s vision and you’ve said yes, for whatever reasons you’ve said yes. You have to do it. But a lot of times these situations come because the script was never given to on time, or the script was changed.” The actress concluded by saying she tries to find a middle way, and if that’s not possible, she reads or finds something else to do to keep herself busy.

Talking about her upcoming film, Monica O My Darling, it features Huma Qureshi and Rajkummar Rao in the lead. The film is slated to release on November 11. It will be exclusively available on Netflix.

EXCLUSIVE: Good Bad Girl actress Gul Panag reveals what was the last thing she googled

Model and actress Gul Panag has been part of multiple Bollywood films like Dor, Manorama Six Feet Under, Ab Tak Chhappan 2, web series Paatal Lok, Bypass Road and many more. She is also a former beauty queen who competed in the Miss Universe pageant.

The multi hyphenate talent, who has also earned a law degree, recently starred on the web series titled Good Bad Girl in which she plays a lawyer and the co-founder of a law firm. Kajal Aggarwal sets the internet ablaze as she flaunts her jubilant smile in mirror work embellished dress by Arpita Mehta

Going by the teaser, Ghosty is a wacky horror thriller with Kajal playing two roles, as a police officer and a heroine. Through the promo, director Kalyan confirmed that Ghosty will have a theatrical release.

An avid social media user, Kajal is often seen sharing her upcoming projects, travel getaways, and snippets of her glamorous photoshoots on Instagram. This time, the Acharya actress made all the heads turn as she dropped a streak of stunning pictures, announcing that her next film, Ghosty is “coming soon.” “Ghosty coming soon,” she captioned her post. Kajal adopted a bohemian look for the photos, donning an embroidered dress by Arpita Mehta. The garment Kajal is wearing has blue embroidery and mirror work all over it. Her dress has fringe on the hem and sleeves as well as sea shell embellishments all throughout. The actress is seen flaunting her exuberant smile as posed for the pics. Kajal paired her look with white heel boots and statement sea shell earring with pink tassels. Kajal’s choice of accessory was quite distinctive.

For makeup, she wore blue smoky eyeshadow, Kohl-rimmed eyes, sleek eyeliner, highlighted cheeks, and a glossy pink lip consisted of her makeup. Her locks were left open in soft curls and her glam game was on point.

Meanwhile, the teaser showcases Kajal Aggarwal in dual roles, as a police officer and an actress. The actress’s spirit haunts the police officer. Meanwhile, Yogi Babu is the only one who has the ability to ward off the spirit. Ghosty has a star-studded cast includes Kajal Aggarwal, Yogi Babu, KS Ravikumar, Redin Kingsley, Oorvasi, Thangadurai and Jagan in key roles. The film consists of composer Sam CS, cinematographer Jacob Rathinaraj and Editor Vijay Velukutty. The film’s release date will be announced later.

EXCLUSIVE: Sooraj Barjatya on how his kind of filmmaking is relevant in today’s times – “Values of families remain the same, even if they’re not a joint one”

Director Sooraj Barjatya has given some of the most iconic family- dramas in Bollywood. His films were no less than a celebration of relationships, values, and Indian culture. The 58-year-old filmmaker is currently gearing up for his next directorial Uunchai which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, and Boman Irani in the lead.

When we asked where does his filmmaking come in in today’s market to still be relevant and if it’s a challenge. Sooraj said, “If you see traditionally then we say family values are declining. But I feel the importance of a family will never change. I feel only the ways of exhibiting family values will change.”

He further explained, “Values of families remain the same, even if they’re not a joint one. Or for example, I couldn’t talk freely with my father but nowadays my children sit with me and talk to me freely. This doesn’t mean they don’t love or respect me, it’s just the way of showing respect that has changed, which we must respect. So, I think families will always be the core force.”

“Today, everyone is much more focused on themselves, which is correct also, we must respect it. But personally, I feel cinema has a big responsibility,” he said before adding, “As a director I feel I would like to go against the wind and I would like to give back those traditions somewhere.”

He then continued, “I am trying to say it in a different way, in a humorous way because someone should at least say it if in a family, you trust each other, you’ll be trusted. Because that’s important.”

Speaking of Uunchai, the film is slated to release on November 11. The film explores the story of three friends, who decide to climb the Mount Everest to fulfil the last wish of their late friend.
