Aamir Khan takes a break from acting for the next year and a half; says, ‘not fair to those close to me’

Interestingly, Aamir recently attended an event organised by his friend in Delhi for a chat session. At the event, Aamir discussed his career and how he approaches a film. During the same chat, he also spoke about why he felt the need to take a break from acting.

The Dangal actor said, “When I am doing a film as an actor, I get so lost in that that nothing else happens in my life. I was supposed to do a film after Laal Singh Chaddha called Champions. It’s a wonderful script, a beautiful story, and it’s a very heartwarming and lovely film. But I feel that I want to take a break, be with my family, with my mom, my kids.”

The Taare Zameen Par actor further added, “I feel I have been working for 35 years and I have single-mindedly been focused on my work. I feel that it’s not fair to people who are close to me. This is the time I feel I have to take some time off to be with them and actually experience life in a different way. I am looking forward to the next year, a year-and-a-half in which I am not working as an actor.”

Mr Perfectionist concluded his chat by saying, “I will be producing Champions because I really believe in the film, I think it’s a great story.”

EXCLUSIVE: Subhash Ghai calls younger generation of stars as ‘nervous’ actors because they have a 20-person entourage

Known as the ‘Showman’ of Bollywood, Subhash Ghai has made some of the biggest films in Bollywood. The filmmaker has given us masterpieces like Hero, Khalnayak, Pardes, among others. He recently spoke about the changing phase of Bollywood films and recalled the times when filmmaking was a different business altogether. In the recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ghai discussed about the reason behind actors having a 20 people entourage and called them as ‘nervous’ actors. In the same breath, he also revealed that superstars like Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan still have the same team that they had years ago.

EXCLUSIVE: Subhash Ghai calls younger generation of stars as ‘nervous’ actors because they have a 20-person entourage

In this interview with Bollywood Hungama, comparing the younger and older generation of stars, especially superstars like Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn, Ghai said, “Actors jo 40 saal se industry mein hai, jinko main 1980s se jaanta hoon, inke paas jo 3 bandhe hai na – makeup man, unka boy, aur driver, woh aaj tak wahi hain. Yeh 20 unke saath dekhenge jo naye naye musalmaan bane hain. Inko ghabrahat hoti hai ki koi mujhe dekh leyega, main teek se toh chal raha hoon, koi photo maang lega. Yeh gharaye hue actors ki nishaani hai ki uske peeche 20 log aaye. (Actors who have in the industry for about 40 years and whom I have known since the 80s, these people have a three-person team of makeup man, their spot boy and their driver that have remained the same all these years. The ones who have a 20-people entourage are the new-age stars who have just gained fame. And that is because they are constantly nervous about whether they are walking properly, or what if someone asks for a selfie. It is a sign of nervous actors when there are 20 people behind them.)”

Subhash Ghai also teaches filmmaking at his institute Whistling Woods. He returned to production in 2022 after seven long years. Ever since he produced Hero, a remake of his own film featuring Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri in 1983, featuring the then debutants Sooraj Pancholi (son of Aditya Pancholi) and Athiya Shetty (daughter of Suniel Shetty), Ghai stayed away from production. He returned to it and also wrote the story of his latest release 36 Farmhouse that released in January 2022 and featured an ensemble cast.

“My pre-natal journey was quite different. I was very sure I wanted to have as natural a journey as I could that would lead to a natural delivery with as little intervention as possible. For that I decided to take help of ‘gentle birth method’ with Dr Gowra Motha. She had written a lovely book called Gentle Birth Method that explains how to deal with the prenatal journey,” wrote the Aisha actress in one of her Instagram stories.

Coming to stretch marks, the Neerja actress shared the details of the products she has been using, and added, “Besides the linea nigra, I don’t have any stretch marks at all. I’ve used a combination of these two products (which she shared a picture of) three times a day on my whole trunk area up to my thighs. I also drank collagen, had vitamin C and a lot of protein.”

Fruits: cantaloupe, honeydew, mangoes, prunes, bananas, apricots, oranges, and red or pink grapefruit (for potassium)

Dairy: fat-free or low-fat yoghourt, oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk (I was dairy free, as I’m lactose intolerant) buttermilk, paneer (cottage cheese)

Grains: ready-to-eat cereals/cooked cereals (for iron and folic acid) and I’m glutten free as well. I found out that was easier on my gut

Proteins: beans dals and peas; nuts and seeds; chicken lamb salmon, trout, herring, sardines and pollock etc

Liquids are the most important! Water water water.

After dating for a few years, Sonam and Anand got married in Mumbai in May 2018. Announcing her pregnancy, Sonam had written, “Four hands. To raise you the very best we can. Two hearts. That will beat in unison with yours, every step of the way. One family. Who will shower you with love and support. We can’t wait to welcome you,” in the caption of her social media post.

Interestingly, Rajkummar is currently busy with the promotions of his latest film, Monica O My Darling, which is released on Netflix. As a part of promotion activity, the streaming giant dropped a video on its social media platform, in which Rajkummar can be seen talking with popular stand-up comedian Zakir Khan.

In the video, the talented actor said, “After watching LSD (Love Se Aur Dhokha), Anurag sir called me and said I am making a film and come and meet me. So when I met him, there was just a story, rather a structure of a story. And at that time, the film he narrated was Faisal Khan (Nawazuddin) vs Shamshad Alam (Rajkummar). Nawaz and I went to Wasseypur and I had a small tape recorder, which I used to record people there.”

Further, the Stree actor recalled meeting the director 3-4 months after finishing writing. He said, “Anurag sir met me again and told me that my role had become much shorter. But I said no worries sir. He asked me would you still do it and I said of course. I am getting a chance to work with you. And I am glad I did actually.”

Interestingly, Rao’s act in GOW grabbed the attention of director Hansal Mehta. Mehta signed him for Shahid, which fetched Rao his first National Award.
