Director S. S. Rajamouli accepted the award and thanked “the women in my life” including his mother. “She thought school education was overrated and she encouraged me to read comics and storybooks, and she encouraged my creativity,” said Rajamouli. He thanked his wife, costume designer Rama Rajamouli. He said, “More than that, she’s the designer of my life.”

‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Best Song. M.M. Keeravani accepted the award and said, “Thank you so much I am very overwhelmed with this award. I am here to receive this wonderful award by the critics. Thank you all the critics, on behalf of my chorographer, lyrics writer, my singers, my programmers and ofcourse my director.”
“Cheers on a well-deserved win @RRRMovie,” the caption read on the official handle of Critics Choice Awards. In the video, Rajamouli wore a brown kurta paired with a khaki pants along with a red and grey muffler.

Meanwhile, it already has Oscars 2023 buzz as the film was submitted for 15 categories. RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ has been shortlisted for Best Original Song for Academy Awards 2023. The team of RRR is in Los Angeles for the Oscars campaign. They recently hosted a special screening for the members of the Academy.

On Friday, the film had opened to Rs. 1.07 crores and hence if there was any chance to see some sort of a run till the release of Pathaan then Saturday had to be over Rs. 2 crores mark. Not that even those would have been good collections but then at least it would have at least meant that there was 100%+ growth, which would have indicated some sort of momentum to be picked up.
This isn’t turning out to be the case though as the overall collections stand at mere Rs. 2.32 crores, which is a very low number even for a niche film. When Kaminey had released back in 2009, it had fetched an opening day of Rs. 4.40 crores with a weekend of Rs. 14.82 crores. As things stand today, Kuttey won’t achieve this number as its lifetime score.
Meanwhile, Ved is continuing to excel as Saturday collections came to Rs. 2.72 crores. The opening day collections were Rs. 2.25 crores so for the film to collect far ahead of that even on its 16th day is indeed a big deal. Currently standing at Rs. 44.92 crores, the Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza starrer is enjoying its run and would score a half century within this week itself. Despite the film running primarily at Maharashtra, it’s doing very good business. This is where Pushpa [Hindi] too kept running for long and the same target audience has made Ved a blockbuster as well.

To add to that, it is produced by Dharma Productions. Considering that the film brings an unconventional trio, there has been immense buzz about it. And now adding to the anticipation, the makers have unveiled a special motion poster of the film.
Readers would be aware that the original film Driving License featured Prithiviraj Sukumaran in the role of a popular superstar whereas Suraj Venjarammoodu essays the character of a Motor Vehicle Inspector. Going by the recent motion poster, Akshay Kumar will be taking up the role of Prithviraj whereas Emraan Hashmi will be seen as the cop. The latest motion poster clearly showcases the massive face off that the two characters will be seen having in the film. Sharing it on his Instagram, producer and head honcho of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar said, “Superstar aur Superfan ki aisi kahaani, aap ne suni naa hogi kahin! Dekhiye #Selfiee in cinemas on Feb 24th.”

The film revolves around a MVI who is a massive fan of the superstar and decides to help him get through a sticky situation, albeit in an illegal manner but with one condition – he wants to meet him in person. However, the meeting turns out to be a bust with the two of them locking horns and the resulting fight impacts their professional as well as personal lives.
Selfiee is directed by Raj Mehta and it also features Nusshratt Bharuccha as well as Diana Penty as the leading ladies. The film is expected to hit the big screens on February 24. If reports are to be believed, the trailer is said to hit the tube on January 19.

Featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna, the film will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions including love, sacrifice, betrayal and honour. In the film, the actor takes on the role of an Indian spy who goes undercover in Pakistan.
While talking to a news portal regarding what did the actor like the most in his role, Sidharth said, “It is inspired by true events so we had a lot of public domain information as to what really transpires, at least for my character, when people go abroad from agencies across India to protect the country. They don’t really go guns blazing. The whole idea is to be so secretive and so unassuming that the person could be in this room and we wouldn’t know. So that dynamic of being unnoticed and unknown in a vast majority of people and not standing out was so interesting to me”. Further speaking about his character, the actor said, “This is the first time for me playing a character based in the 1970s so there is a retro aspect to it. The lingo is different and since I am an Indian spy in Pakistan, he speaks Urdu and portrays himself to be different. There are so many layers.”
When asked how Mission Majnu stands out from other stories of Indian spies, Sidharth replied, “The tonality of it!” He elaborates, “This is a spy genre which is not taking that in-your-fae hero approach. I don’t even use guns in the film. There is one action piece where he is using a gun because in reality, it would defeat the purpose if he was going out killing everybody. I really love the way they would work on information gathering, which is more of trial and error. That is the USP. This is a spy genre which is not taking that in-your-face hero approach. It has an emotional graph for sure”. He further added, “It is not an out-and-out action film like James Bond or Ek Tha Tiger, where they are blasting things around. I think it makes for a fresher watch.”
Mission Majnu is all set to release on Netflix. However, the film was initially slated to make a theatrical release last year. It saw its release date pushed back twice and eventually saw a platform shift as well. To this Sidharth said, “A good film gets its due. It will make that noise because word of mouth travels. I think it’s imperative to focus on your quality now. You can’t give something that is half-baked and not up to the mark. But there are many avenues now. With Netflix, we are coming to your homes now because the dynamics of how people look at theatrical releases has changed too. So yes, lines are blurred.”
The actor does admit that the commerce of cinema has created a certain template for films. “In the current scenario, on Friday, we become obsessed with things like ‘I will do this and my film will be a hit’,” says Sidharth, adding, “The producer says if I can do this number, I can say my film is a success or profitable. We are all desperately trying to get that perception. It is tiring at times, maybe not even accurate at times. Only a longer span of time will tell you what an actor has contributed to the field. It can’t be judged on that Friday or that weekend.”
Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna, Parmeet Sethi, Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, Zakir Hussain and Mir Sarwar, Mission Majnu is arriving on Netflix on January 20, 2023.

Recently, a video of Kareena working out was shared by her physical trainer Anushka Parwani in which the actress is seen working out rigorously. Commenting on the same, Rhea revealed that Kareena is gearing up for the shoot of her next, The Crew.
We are all aware of Kareena’s love interest. In the recently shared video, Kareena Kapoor Khan is seen working out in different ways which also includes Yoga that Anushka Parwani is famous for. The reel includes several exercise montages where we can see the actress running down a flight of stairs, where she is trying to hold a brick on her back, doing yoga poses, and a few other workout regimes to get in shape. Anushka took to her Instagram to post the video along with a caption that read, ‘Saturday burn’ and also used the popular Diljit Dosanjh song ‘Born To Shine’.

Coming to The Crew, the film is directed by Rajesh Krishnan and co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures Limited & Anil Kapoor Productions. It is said to go on floors from February 2023.
Meanwhile, talking about Kareena’s professional commitments, the actress will be making her OTT debut with a film directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is an adaptation of the Japanese novel ‘Devotion of Suspect X’. Besides that, the actress will also be seen in a Hansal Mehta film and it was reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen in the role of a cop.
