The restaurant exclusively offers Indian cuisine. However, after two years, the actress has now stepped away from the partnership and will no longer be involved with Sona restaurant.
“Priyanka has stepped away from her partnership at Sona,” a representative said in a statement to PEOPLE publication. “Bringing Sona to life will invariably be a proud and significant moment in her career. Priyanka has always endeavored to bring Indian culture to the fore through storytelling, whether that’s via engaging content for film and TV, or a beautifully plated dish that embodies the haute cuisine of India.”
But, the actress will mostly be involved food scene and hospitality. “Stepping away from Sona allows her to broaden these ambitions on a more global scale, and she’s excited about the possibilities that await,” the spokesperson added.
Maneesh K. Goyal, co-founder of Sona and Priyanka’s former business partner, said, “We’re grateful for her partnership and support. While she will no longer be involved as a creative partner moving forward, she remains in the Sona family and we are excited for our respective new chapters ahead.”
Back in 2021, Priyanka took to her social media handle to make the announcement of her new restaurant along with pictures. “I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into. SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavours I grew up with. The kitchen is helmed by the incredible Chef #HariNayak, a masterful talent, who has created the most delicious and innovative menu, taking you on a food journey through my amazing country. SONA is opening later this month, and I can’t wait to see you there!” Priyanka had tweeted.
“This endeavour would not have been possible without the leadership of my friends @mkgoyal and #DavidRabin. Thank you to our designer #MelissaBowers and the rest of the team for realizing this vision so clearly. On work front, Priyanka was last seen in Russo Brothers’ Citadel which has been renewed for season 2 and a romantic comedy film, Love Again. The actress was recently in London shooting for Heads of State which also stars John Cena. The actress has Ending Things with Anthony Mackie and Jee Le Zaraa with Farhan Akhtar.

She essayed the role of antagonist Keya Dhawan in the action film starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. However, the actress did not get to promote the movie extensively and it has to do with the ongoing strikes in Hollywood.
In a recent Instagram Q&A, the actress said that due to the actors’ strike in the US, where they standing up and fighting for fair residuals, the team was standing in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA. Alia said, “As a team, we stand behind the SAG-AFTRA strike, and as a mark of solidarity, we haven’t been promoting the movie.”
“However I’ve been seeing all your messages and the outpouring of love!! Thankful for you all and sending all the love right back to you,” she wrote.
The film’s cast had recorded a series of interviews prior to the strike. The film released on August 11.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has signed YRF’s female-driven spy movie. She also has another Dharma Productions’ in the works with Vasan Bala. The actress is reportedly in talks to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash.

AP Dhillon treated the audience to a musical rendition of his latest track ‘With You‘. The artist went to excite the students further as he jumped into the crowd and continued his performance, to the delight of all his fans present.

Announcing Don 3, which is touted to be a reboot, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor is excited to take on the iconic role. Farhan recently revealed that he is so pumped about it as well.
In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan Akhtar said, “I’m just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also, as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous. You know about the thing that you’re filling some big shoes. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh Khan did it and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?’ That whole thing happened then. And it really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it, really like giving it their style and their flair and he has that. He has that in spades. So he’s gonna do that. Yeah. So he’s gonna do a great job. I think the responsibility is more of mine now to make sure that the script of the film works out the way I imagined.

He added, “The filming for Don (3) starts in 2025. We start in January of 2025. So there’s some time away.” When asked what makes a good Don, he said, “Self-confidence, flamboyance and the belief and the ability to do anything that your mind is set on.”
In recent times, ever since the announcement, fans have been divided about not having Shah Rukh Khan in the third installment. The original character was played by Amitabh Bachchan in the 80s followed by SRK in the 2000s in Don and Don 2. However, Ranveer Singh is well aware of the responsibility that comes along with the role and he hopes that he can deliver a memorable performance if given a chance by the audience.
