Jawan: Shah Rukh Khan reveals the real reason behind signing action movies: “I do action films because my kids get very impressed that I am doing some cool things”

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is all set to hit the big screens this Thursday and the excitement among the audience is at its peak. After seeing the action-packed trailer, the makers unveiled a video where both Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi answered seven questions. When asked about why he does action films now, SRK had an apt answer for it.

During the conversation, SRK said, “I’ll tell you the real reason why I do it. One day my elder son, and my daughter, told me you have to do films which are very cool for the youngest AbRam and I thought the only cool thing he likes is all the anime and action films. So I decided to be a superhero and I thought I didn’t look good in a spandex so without getting into a spandex, I got into bandages and that’s why this action film. So honestly I do action films because my kids get very impressed that I am doing some cool things, have six-pack abs, and stuff like that. There is no other reason I should do action films.”

Helmed by Atlee, Jawan stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi along with Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, Eijaz Khan and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Deepika Padukone has an action-packed special appearance. The music is by Anirudh Ravichander. The film releases on September 7, 2023.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has been making waves right from the day of its announcement and the trailer just pushed it up to the next level. As the action entertainer is nearing its release date, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to elevate it to the next level and now, to treat the audience with the super hit songs altogether by releasing the Jukebox. Be it ‘Zinda Banda‘, ‘Chalega‘, or ‘Not Ramaiaya Vastavaiya‘, all the songs from the album Jawan have received a phenomenal response from the audience. Elevating the ever-rising craze, the makers have now released the Juke Box where the audience will able to enjoy the entire album from the film.

‘Zinda Banda‘ is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The couplet in the song is given by Wasim Barelvi while the lyrics are given by Irshad Kamil. The vocals of the song are by Anirudh Ravichander. The ‘Chaleya‘ song is beautifully sung by Arijit Singh & Shilpa Rao. The electrifying party number ‘Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya‘ has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the lyrics are by Kumaar. The energetic voice in the song is given by Anirudh Ravichander, Vishal Dadlani & Shilpa Rao.

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will be released worldwide in theatres on September 7th, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.

Vijay Deverakonda to donate Rs. 1 crore from his Kushi salary to families in need: “I shall select 100 families in need and present them with Rs. 1 lakh cheque each in the next 10 days”

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer romantic drama Kushi was released in theatres on September 1, 2023. The film has accumulated Rs. 70.23 crore in three days worldwide. A success celebration event was hosted in Visakhapatnam on Monday where Vijay revealed that he will donate a sum of Rs. 1 crore from his Kushi salary. The actor will identify families that are in need and donate Rs. 1 lakh each to 100 families.

“You are happy and I am happy. I am thinking of something and I don’t know if I can pull it off or whether it’s right or wrong. But, if I don’t do it, I’ll be sleepless. To spread joy with you guys, I will donate Rs. 1 crore from my Kushi salary to 100 families. I shall select 100 families in need and present them with Rs. 1 lakh cheque each in the next 10 days. My success, my happiness and my salary should be shared with you all,” he said.

“I will share a form on my social media page tomorrow. I still haven’t come up with a plan. I will name the form ‘Spreading Kushi’ or ‘Devera family’ and send it. If the money helps people to pay their rent or fees or anything, I’d be happy. We will have a success celebration for Kushi in Hyderabad in the next 10 days. Before that, I will try and complete this and help 100 families. Once I complete this, I’d be able to enjoy the success truly,” Vijay added.

Written and directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Kushi is captivating hearts across the nation and is now playing in the cinemas in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Janhvi Kapoor looks like a work of art in the red linen saree, which will undoubtedly transport you to another era

30 Years of Khalnayak premiere: Ramesh Taurani reveals how he wooed Subhash Ghai for music rights: “I sent him a 3 feet x 3 feet cake on which I wrote, ‘Saudagar, Tips ke saath sauda kar’”

The screening of Khalnayak (1993), arranged by Radio Nasha on the occasion of the film’s 30th anniversary, was a memorable affair. It was graced by Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ali Asgar, Anand Balraj, director Subhash Ghai, singers Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun, art director Bijon Das Gupta, dialogue writer Kamlesh Pandey and costume designer Neeta Lulla. They entertained the media with their bytes on the radio carpet to RJ Divya Solgama. Inside the auditorium, they spoke to RJ Rohini about the film and a lot more.

Ramesh Taurani’s quotes stole the show. He said, “I was behind Subhash ji since Saudagar in 1991. I asked him to give us the rights. But he declined as he had already committed to HMV. He assured he’ll speak to me for future films. Main bhi ekdum young tha. He must be wondering ki yeh kaun hai. Serious hai ya nahin.”

He raised laughs as he said, “When Saudagar’s music was released, I sent him 3 feet x 3 feet cake. I wrote on the cake, ‘Saudagar, Tips ke saath sauda kar’!” He loved it that he called all the distributors of India and told them how this new company is passionate.”

That’s not all. Ramesh further said, “When this cake got ready, I told my office boys to send it to Subhash ji’s house. They called and told me that ‘yeh cake taxi mein fit nahin ho raha’. So, we ordered a tempo!” As expected, it brought the house down.

Ramesh Taurani continued, “Subhash ji invited us to Khalnayak’s premiere and thus, a bond was formed. When Khalnayak was being made, I told him, ‘Khalnayak (ke music rights) toh chahiye kisi bhi haalat mein’. He charged double the market price! We paid the amount as we had full faith in Subhash ji.”

At this, Subhash Ghai admitted that he never thought Ramesh Taurani would agree to the price, “I told Laxmikant ji (of music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal), ‘Mujhe hit music chahiye’. He was confused and asked me, ‘You usually ask me for good songs. Aapka gaana toh hamesha hit hota hai. Then why are you asking for hit songs’?. I explained, ‘Maine aise hi ek price feki aur unhone de di’!”

Ramesh Taurani further narrated, “He told Laxmikant ji, ‘Maine itna paisa liya hai music company se ki mujhe usko justify karna hai’.”

The Tips head honcho also opened up on one more funny anecdote, “When Anand Bakshi ji said that the lines of the song were ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’, Subhash ji ke haath se phone gir gaya!.”

Khalnayak led to the birth of a new partnership between Mukta Arts and Tips. Ramesh Taurani proudly said, “Ever since Khalnayak, all the songs of Subhash ji are with us.”

Although both filmmakers didn’t reveal the price, as per Komal Nahta’s Film Information magazine, Tips paid Rs. 1 crore for the music rights. It also mentioned that Subhash Ghai broke ties with HMV because the music company didn’t pay him a single rupee of royalty for his earlier hits Saudagar (1991) and Ram Lakhan (1989) and also didn’t provide the statements for the years, 1990, 1991 and 1992.

Jailer producer gifts music composer Anirudh Ravichander Rs. 1.5 crore worth Porsche after handing over a cheque after the success of Rajinikanth starrer

The producer of Rajinikanth starrer Jailer, Kalanithi Maran, who is the founder and director of Sun Group, handed over a celebratory cheque to music composer Anirudh Ravichander. He also gifted the musician with a Rs. 1.5 crore worth Porsche.

Anirudh, who is the nephew of Rajinikanth, gave chartbusters like ‘Kaavaalaa’, ‘Hukum’, and ‘Rathamaarey’ apart from the soundtrack for Jailer.

Meanwhile, the movie has collected Rs. 600 crore gross worldwide. The producer recently shared a Rs. 100 crore profits cheque with Rajinikanth and gifted him a BMW X7 and a Porsche to the director Nelson Dilipkumar.
