Fauda fame Idan Amedi sustains injuries while serving in IDF counter-terrorism unit amid Israel-Hamas war

Israeli singer-songwriter and actor Idan Amedi, well-known for his role as Sagi in the popular Netflix series Fauda, has been seriously injured while fighting in Gaza as part of the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) counter-terrorism unit. Late Monday evening, an Israeli diplomat, Avia Levi, announced the news of his injury. “Idan Amedi, one of Fauda’s actors, has been seriously injured in a battle in Gaza. We pray and pray for your speedy recovery,” Avia posted on X.

For the unversed, the Fauda star had been actively participating in the ongoing conflict against Hamas terrorists. The actor had been serving as a reservist in the IDF’s counter-terrorism unit since the outbreak of hostilities following the Hamas rampage on October 7.

Amedi, who has amassed millions of followers on YouTube, used his Instagram account to share glimpses of his military service, reflecting the stark contrast between the fictional world of Fauda and the harsh reality of the ongoing conflict. In a post, he stated, “This is not a scene from Fauda, this is real life,” underlining the gravity of the situation.

Amedi is not the sole individual associated with the series who responded to Israel’s call for reservists. Lior Raz, another actor from the well-received TV series, also joined the front lines. Tragically, Matan Meir, a crew member, lost his life while actively participating in the conflict.
