Makar Sankranti 2024: Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan-Upasana share ‘mega’ on the festival, fans miss Pawan Kalyan

Makar Sankranti is a festival observed around January 14-15th every year. The festival marks the significance of the end of the winter solstice and the beginning of longer days. The festival is known by various names in different parts of India, such as Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Uttarayan in Gujarat, Maghi/Lohri in Punjab, and Bhogali Bihu in Assam, among others. Celebrities often get together on this occasion to perform prayers and rituals. Chiranjeevi’s grand family on Monday reunited to this special occasion.

On Monday, January 15, Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela shared a ‘mega’ family photo on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Featuring their daughter Klin Kaara Konidela, her face was covered with a heart emoji. Amongs the family members included Allu Arjun, Sneha Reddy, Varun Tej, and Lavanya Tripathi. Upasana wrote, “Happy Happy Sankranthi. My heart & belly are full. Thank u Athamma & Mamaya for bringing us all together.” Fans flooded the comment section that they missed Pawan Kalyan, who is the younger brother of Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Allu Arjun will next star in Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film is set for an Independence Day 2024 release. Ram Charan, on the other hand, has Game Changer with Shankar and RC 16 with Gowtam Tinnanuri.

Sriram Raghavan believes Vijay Sethupathi could have had a memorable role in Jawan: “More audiences got to see him because it had Shah Rukh Khan”

Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi is receiving rave reviews. The film, released on January 12, 2024, is being hailed by critics and audiences. In a recent conversation, Raghavan reflected on working with Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi and how the Hindi-speaking audience has been eagerly anticipating his work.

Sriram Raghavan admits that the massive success of the Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead with Vijay Sethupathi as the villain amplified the anticipation surrounding Sethupathi’s next release. Raghavan recognized his popularity and cited the positive reception of his previous work Farzi for his eccentric character portrayal. He admitted that Jawan exposed Sethupathi’s reach to a wider audience, he felt that the actor could have had a more impactful and memorable role in the film. Speaking to India Today, Sriram Raghavan said, “As soon as it came, people really enjoyed him. Of course, with Jawan, more audiences got to see him because it had Shah Rukh Khan. But I wish he had a much more memorable role in Jawan. With this film, his first Hindi outing, I think he’s gotten what he deserves.”

Talking about how rooted Sethupathi is about his stardom, Sriram added, “He has come up the hard way. So, he’s grateful and the best part is that he’s always in the quest to learn.”

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi has an array of line-up including Maharaja, and Gandhi Talks among others. On the other hand, Sriram Raghavan will soon kick off Ikkis as his next directorial starring Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Prabhas announces Maruthi-directed entertainer The Raja Saab, see first look

Following Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, Prabhas announces his next The Raja Saab, a romantic horror entertainer by director Maruthi under the People Media Factory banner. A Pan-India film with an illustrious cast, the film will be released in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, with co-producer Vivek Kuchibotla, The Raja Saab promises to be an out-and-out entertainer presenting Prabhas in a ‘massy’ look in the film.

The film’s music is being orchestrated by National Award-winning music composer, Thaman S who is regarded as one of the most prominent and gifted musical talents in Telugu and Tamil cinema. He’s best known for his work in the 2020 musical hit ‘Ala Vaikuntapuramulo’ and the viral ‘Hungy Cheetah’ song from ‘OG’ in addition to more. Known as one of the most accomplished and celebrated filmmakers in Telugu cinema, Maruthi is credited for superhits like family entertainer Prati Roju Pandage, first-ever Telugu horror comedy Prema Katha Chitram, and romantic comedy ‘Mahanubhavudu’ amongst many others.

Ecstatic about the upcoming romantic horror entertainer and joining forces with Prabhas, director Maruthi said, “The Raja Saab stands as one of my most ambitious projects to date. Collaborating with Prabhas and People Media Factory is both an honour and exciting for me as a filmmaker. We are geared up to offer our audiences a grand horror experience. Having Prabhas on board is particularly special as his electrifying screen presence infused with our horror narrative is surely to leave audiences amazed.”

Film’s Producer TG Vishwa Prasad, who’s known for backing superhit commercial potboilers like Karthikeya 2 and Dhamaka, added, “We are thrilled to have Prabhas on board for our upcoming romantic horror entertainer The Raja Saab. He’s truly a Pan-India star who’s loved by audiences for his brilliant range as an actor and we truly believe he’s best suited for the role. Audiences can expect to see him in a massy and vintage look that they have long yearned for. With Maruthi’s filmmaking brilliance, we are truly looking forward to beginning this journey.”

Director Maruthi, confirming the romantic horror entertainer, announced on social media that The Raja Saab is Prabhas’ special Pongal treat for fans worldwide. It is touted to be a king-sized romantic horror entertainer.

The film’s cinematography is led by Karthik Palani (Varisu), and VFX is led by Kamal Kannan (Magadheera, Baahubali ) both are renowned for their works in big-budget blockbuster films.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, recently got married to her long-time beau Nupur Shikhare. The duo, engaged since 2023, initially sealed their commitment with official documentation in Mumbai this January 2024. Subsequently, the couple orchestrated a lavish wedding celebration in Udaipur, culminating in a heartfelt Christian ceremony. Now, the celebrations were brought to Mumbai with a grand reception on Saturday night. Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare arrived in style along with Aamir Khan, Reena Dutta, Junaid Khan, Azad Rao Khan, Imran Khan, and Zayn Marie and Nupur’s mother among others. Kiran Rao was missing due to health issues.

In an inside video from the ceremony, Aamir Khan was seen interacting with Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Ira Khan was seen chatting with Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha co-star Naga Chaitanya. Anil Kapoor met the newlyweds. Rekha was seen with her group of friends. In another clip, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was seen arriving at the reception. Anil Kapoor and Babil Khan were seen sharing a heartfelt conversation.
