Kartik Aaryan expresses sorrow over Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retiring from T20; says, “We won the World Cup, but sadly, we are losing two diamonds”

Kartik Aaryan celebrated India’s 2024 T20 World Cup victory, but he is upset that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have retired from T20 international cricket. In an interview with India Today, he described it as a major loss for Indian cricket. On June 29, India defeated South Africa by seven runs at the Kensington Oval, winning their second T20 World Cup since 2007.

Speaking on Team India’s stunning success last night, Kartik told India Today, “I’m really happy and excited that India won the World Cup yesterday. It’s like a dream for all of us to witness this. The way Virat Kohli played in the finals and how Rohit Sharma said that he was saving it for the finals, even Suryakumar’s catch was unreal. This match was a perfect nail-biter and something which a lot of us won’t forget. Jasprit Bumrah in the end, Hardik Pandya, everyone – it was a team effort last night.”

He also talked about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s retiring and said, “We won the World Cup, but sadly, we are losing two diamonds. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are retiring. It definitely breaks my heart and fans’ too.”

Kartik Aaryan also took to social media to congratulate Team India. He marked the team the one that refused to surrender.

India stunned everyone by winning their second ICC T20 World Cup championship with a seven-run victory over South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. After winning the T20 World Cup, Team India members were ecstatic. Rohit Sharma collapsed to the ground, while Rahul Dravid jumped out of his chair with joy. Finally, they’re world champs! Hardik Pandya was moved to tears. Following the match, Bollywood flocked to social media to congratulate the squad.

India’s previous T20 World Cup victory came under the leadership of MS Dhoni in 2007, making this recent triumph a long-awaited achievement. As the nation celebrated, the absence of Kohli and Sharma in future T20I matches cast a shadow over the festivities.

“Salman Khan is the opposite of Shah Rukh Khan,” says Govind Namdev; reveals their contrasting approaches to work

Veteran actor Govind Namdev has shared his experience of working with Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Govind Namdev recalled his time with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000).

“Salman Khan is the opposite of Shah Rukh Khan,” says Govind Namdev; reveals their contrasting approaches to work

Shah Rukh Khan will smoke like a chimney and keep working

According to Govind Namdev, Shah Rukh Khan’s work ethic was unparalleled, as he would work tirelessly, often for just four hours of sleep, and constantly think about his next project. “I had heard a lot about workaholics, jinhe sirf kaam ki dhun hoti hai. I had heard about them, but I saw it the first time when I worked with Shah Rukh Khan,” Govind Namdev said.

He further recalled, “We worked throughout the day, then at night he mingled with the whole crew, we ate together and then, because he was also the producer, he worked till 2 AM. The next day, he had to take an early morning flight to Chennai to attend a function, then come back and resume shooting! He would’ve slept for not more than three and a half or four hours maximum. Kaam mein dhuni hai woh. He will smoke like a chimney and keep working, keep thinking about what to do next. Superstars usually have this attitude, these tantrums, but not him.”

Govind Namdev recalls shooting Wanted with Salman Khan

Govind Namdev also shared his experience of working with Salman Khan on the sets of Wanted (2009). Unlike Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan didn’t interact much with the crew and focused solely on his work. Govind Namdev noted that Salman Khan would occasionally share stories about his childhood and his father, Salim Khan, but otherwise kept to himself.

In his words, “He doesn’t interact much, sirf kaam se kaam. There was no personal talk at all. Just sometimes how unke father kaise hote the, kuch bhi tedha kiya toh padti thi humko‘ (Salman would share how if the kids did anything naughty, they would get a beating by their father Salim). That’s it. He is the opposite of Shah Rukh Khan as far as interacting with others is concerned.”

Speaking of the professional front, the veteran actor was last seen in Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently shooting for Sikandar and Shah Rukh is vacationing in London with friends and family.
